Mosley Common in Bloom would like to

thank Maxilead Metals who have given

mammoth amounts of support over the

last 3 years to our group for current and on

-going projects and events, without which

so much would not have been possible.

Anti-social behaviour After two ASB meetings which were attended by councillors, representatives from local schools, the Restorative Justice team, and the School of Military as well as a local police officer and residents from Mosley Common and surround-ing areas, we are pleased to report that there seems to have been a reduction (although not complete cessation) of anti-social behaviour in the neighbour-hood. We will continue to monitor the situation and inform residents of forth-coming meetings when they are deemed necessary. In the meantime, please remember to dial 101 to report any unwanted behaviour.

The Copse Biodiversity Project

The work on this is painstaking and can be hampered by the weather and time restrictions of the small number of volunteers, but rest assured that we are pushing ahead with clearing the wooded area at the bottom of the playing fields ready for the creation of a nature trail for the enjoyment of the whole neighbourhood. We desperately need more hands to help with this, as many hands make light work, and we would love more community members to get in-volved, and are therefore appealing for help. So if you can offer any time, please contact us at our email address for further information. This really is a worthwhile project and will help attract wildlife to the area as well as reduce ASB.

CAMEO FRIENDSHIP GROUP

COMMUNITY CONSULTATION: MCIB are constantly working to make improvements to the area, with the aim of reducing ASB, keeping the area clean, tidy and wel-coming for the benefit of residents and visitors and encouraging use of our outdoor leisure spaces, with a focus on health and wellbeing. This is to safeguard these spaces and help prevent loss or any change of use for housing developments etc. Outdoor community space is a luxury and in Mosley Common we are very lucky to have so much. With Councils under pressure to con-stantly reduce spending on maintenance and release assets, it is more important than ever that we use and care for it. The goal posts we provided have been a great success and are proving very popular. With this in mind, our latest project is to help make the playing field more user friendly and safe for all potential users. The project is for a track (path, all around the field). This will make the field (which can get very wet and boggy in places) more accessible and useable for all, especially during the wetter, colder months. We hope to include signs giving information such as distance , calories burned, health benefits etc to help inspire and motivate people, whether walking around, wheeling, running or cycling. The focus will be on moving and healthy activity. We hope this will encourage everyone; mums with prams, wheelchair users, mobility scooters, children on bicycles, joggers, dog walkers etc, to use the path round the field and enjoy the space. The path will be inset, well inside the boulders and seats, with a hard surface (type to be confirmed). Please complete, the scan and email or return the following to 31, Gilda Road, M28 1BA or 20 Dunster Rd M28 1AY
