PREFACE

Consequent upon amendment in the Employees' State Insurance Act, 1948,

amendments have been carried out in the Emplyees' State Insurance (Central) Rules, 1950 and

the Employees' State Insurance (General) Regulations, 1950. The same were circulated to all

Regional Directors/Joint Directors (lIC) earlier. Now, the Central Government has further

amended Employees' State Insurance (Central) Rules, 1950 vide amending notification dated

15/06/2011. This amendment is very important since the procedure of payment of benefits from

the Branch Offices has further been simplified.

Planning & Development Section, Hqrs. Office, has brought out this revised

compilation containing copies of the Gazette Notifications issued by the Central Government

and by ESIC amending Employees' State Insurance Act, 1948, Employees' State Insurance

(Central) Rules, 1950 and Employees' State Insurance (General) Regulations, 1950 during

theyear2010and2011 (till 15/06/2011).

I hope this compilation will be of immense help to the Regional Directors/Joint

Directors (lIC) in the Regions/ Sub-Regions including our Medical Officers working in field

offices.
