MISSION STATEMENT
We parishioners of Most Precious Blood Parish are a Catholic Com-munity that gathers together to experience our shared faith through the proclamation of God's word and the celebration of sacraments, principally the Eucharist. We are committed to nourishing an atmos-phere that enhances the Catholic educational, spiritual and ministe-rial growth of all its members, to share our gifts with one another and with the greater community in Christ's spirit of service.

Divine Mercy Sunday
If you struggle with the actual truth of the resurrection, consider two things. First, after the resurrection every one of the Twelve (excluding Judas) went out into the farthest corners of the known world, filled with the utter conviction that he had seen the Risen Lord. Every one knew exactly what would befall him, and every one chose to go anyway. Such was the faith of those who had watched Jesus die, and seen the empty tomb, and experienced the Divine Mercy. Resurrection faith changes us. The second may be just as compelling. In the earliest Christian com-munities, those who owned property or houses would sell them, and the proceeds were distributed to each according to need. Think of that. These early Christians SO BELIEVED in the resurrection that they sold their belongings and shared all things in common, carefully taking care of those in need. Resurrection faith seeks nothing but to love. If you observe women and men in religious communities you see this first-century faith. Imagine doing your job all week, and then putting your paycheck in a communal kitty. Each one takes from the kitty only what she needs, but of course some members need more than others do, and this is how you survive, every day for the rest of your life. Res-urrection faith is stronger than death. Maybe that’s why Thomas needed to place his hands in the wounds of Christ. He could already sense, in the joy and strength of those who had seen Him, that his life would be forever transformed if he believed. His very act of touching His wounds was his first-class ticket into the community of the martyred. Resurrection faith doesn’t care.
What experience of Divine Mercy have you had this year?

The Story & You Sacred Conversations The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Den-ver Metro Council of-fices have been
housed in the MPB parish office building for the past six years. Unfortunately, with the upcom-ing remodeling of the Parish Center into new parish offices, there will no longer be space available for the SVdP office. They need space for a one or two-person office with a bit of storage space. They operate on a very limited budget and are trying to avoid having to pay for office space. If you have or know someone who may have free office space that could be used by the Metro Council, your help would be very much appreciated. Please contact Steve Loftis at [email protected] at 303.960.9163 if you are able to

From the Parish Office
Changing how you give? If you are switching from offering envelopes to Faith Direct automatic with-drawal, please call the Parish Office to let us know. Faith Direct does not notify us when you sign up, so we need to know if you are no longer using enve-
lopes so we can cancel them.
Donating by check? Please add your parish-ioner number to the memo section of your check. This is a great help to our bookkeepers. If you don't know your number, call the Parish Office and we'll be happy to look it up for you.
Please help the Monday morning money counters by enclosing your donation in the proper envelope. If you need Here for Good envelopes, you can find them in the bulletin rack in the back of church or you can pick them up at the Parish Office. If you want to use a plain envelope, please
indicate "Here for Good" on the front of the envelope and in the memo section of your check. This will help avoid con-fusion and ensure that your donation goes to the proper account. Thank you for your help!
New to the Parish? Moving out of the Parish? Please contact the Parish Office for a registration form if you would like to join the parish, if there is a change in your address or phone number, or to be removed from our records. You can also register online by clicking this link:
