Mother Teresa

She was born in Yugoslavia

[ju:gəu`sla:vjə] in Europe in 1910.

In 1928, she travelled to India and started to work as a teacher.

Then she wanted to help sick people.

She opened a hospital.

She also liked to help the poor and homeless people all around the world.

In 1979, Mother Teresa was given the Noble Peace Prize for the lifetime of love and service she has given to the poor .

Mother Teresa was a well-known person.

She suffered from heart disease

in 1983.

Her health became worse and worse day after day. Finally…

She died in 5th September,1997——five days after Princess Diana death.

People prayed for her after she died.
