Best Interior of bars

& Restaurants

Here at Mott 32, the team and I spend a lot of time coming up

with ideas to improve the overall dining experience for our

guests. From the artificial skylights to the themed rooms, we do

not only want our menu offerings to be based on tradition, but

we also want our establishment to take you on a journey through

Hong Kong’s past.

We know that the ambiance and décor of a restaurant is just

as important as the food served. This is why I am delighted

to announce that we have been recognised at two different

awards, the INSIDE World Festival of Interiors and

Restaurant & Bar Design Awards. Both awards are based on

the aesthetics and atmosphere of restaurants and bars.

INSIDE World Festival of Interiors

The INSIDE World Festival of Interiors compromises the most

exciting and original interiors from the past year. There are 60

nominations from 21 countries across nine different categories. We

were shortlisted in the Bars and Restaurants category, competing

against establishments in Seoul, Singapore, Brazil, India, Russia and

the UK.

A lot of our clients think that Mott 32 is one of the best restaurants

in Hong Kong when it comes to design. Therefore, I was thrilled

when our restaurant not only won the Bars and Restaurants category,

but was named the World Interior of the Year at the Inside Festival

in Singapore. The restaurant, and our designer – architect Joyce

Wang – were crowned this award at the ceremony in Singapore at

the Marina Bay Sands Hotel.

Other categories at the event include Residential, Hotels, Retail,

Display, Creative Re-Use, Offices, Education & Health, and

finally Civic Culture & Transport. Judges included Chris Lee,

Matteo Thun, Jaya Ibrahim and Fabio Novembre.

Restaurant & Bar Design Awards

Secondly, the Mott 32 restaurant and our designer Joyce were

shortlisted in the best Asia restaurant category at the 6th

Restaurant & Bar Design Awards. These awards recognise bars

and restaurants, as well as their designers, for design excellence.

We were competing with other establishments in Hong Kong, as

well as China, Japan and India. Whilst Tsukimichi in Japan was

crowned the overall winner, we are still very proud to be one of

the few restaurants shortlisted.

The Restaurant & Bar Design Awards, which were held at the Old

Truman Brewery in London, are the only awards in the world that

are dedicated to hospitality design. Over the past six years the awards

have had more than 3,800 entries in the UK and that is without even

mentioning the over 70 countries that are involved. This year judges

included the likes of designer Michael Corsar, editor-in-chief of Elle

Décor Italy – Livia Peraldo Matton and the editior-in-chief of Conde

Nast Traveler Spain – Sandra Del Rio.
