A seed ball (or seed bomb) is a seed that has been wrapped in soil materials, usually a
mixture of clay and compost, and then dried. Essentially, the seed is ‘pre-planted’ and can be
sown by depositing the seed ball anywhere suitable for the species, keeping the seed safely
until the proper germination window arises. Seed balls are an easy and sustainable way to
cultivate plants in a way that provides a larger window of time when the sowing can occur.
They also are a convenient dispersal mechanism for guerrilla gardeners and people with
achy backs. The day begun with the preparation of the seed balls. Our NSS volunteers
prepared 15000 seed balls throughout the day.

Personality development grooms an individual and helps him make a mark of his/her
own. Individuals need to have a style of their own for others to follow them. Do not
blindly copy others. You need to set an example for people around. Personality
development not only makes you look good and presentable but also helps you face the
world with a smile.
The day begun with a Personality Development and Leadership lecture where the
students were asked to perform group activities and it was an interactive session overall.
Trees contribute to their environment by providing oxygen, improving air quality,
climate amelioration, conserving water, preserving soil, and supporting wildlife. During
the process of photosynthesis, trees take in carbon dioxide and produce the oxygen we
breathe.
Trees improve our air quality by filtering harmful dust and pollutants such as ozone,
carbon monoxide, and sulfur dioxide from the air we breathe. Trees give off oxygen that
we need to breathe. ... Many species of wildlife depend on trees for habitat.
Trees provide food, protection, and homes for many birds and mammals.
Trees are very important for human beings to survive. After the session the NSS
volunteers planted 200 saplings to help the villagers breathe more fresh air.
Physical activity or exercise can improve your health and reduce the risk of developing
several diseases like type 2 diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular disease. Physical activity
and exercise can have immediate and long-term health benefits. Most importantly,
regular activity can improve your quality of life. A minimum of 30 minutes a day can
allow you to enjoy these benefits. In the evening after the snacks and tea our NSS
volunteers played games such as Volleyball, kho-kho and tug of war etc.
After the program we had dinner and their was a report presentation by all the groups and
then the volunteers were briefed about the next day schedule and then the duties were
alloted for the next day.
Day 6- 21st January 2018
The day started with full enthusiasm at 5 am and our NSS flag was hoisted, followed by
the NSS song, exercise.
Play is essential to development because it contributes to the cognitive, physical, social,
and emotional well-being of children and youth. Play also offers an ideal opportunity for
parents to engage fully with their children. Despite the benefits derived from play for
both children and parents, time for free play has been markedly reduced for some
children. This report addresses a variety of factors that have reduced play, including a
hurried lifestyle, changes in family structure, and increased attention to academics and
enrichment activities at the expense of recess or free child-centered play. This report
offers guidelines on how pediatricians can advocate for children by helping families,
school systems, and communities consider how best to ensure that play is protected as
they seek the balance in children’s lives to create the optimal developmental milieu.
In the afternoon, the volunteers organised games for the village children. they enjoyed the
evening thoroughly.
After the dinner their was report presentation by all the groups and then the volunteers
were breifed about the next days schedule and were alloted the duties for next day.

nutritio in one person’s life.

village to call all the villagers. Villagers gave very positive feedback for the camp and
blessed us for our service. For NSS volunteers bleesings are all they need to keep them
motivated for doing service to the society.
In the evening, NSS conducted rangoli competion for the village females, they were divided
in two age groups below 15 and above 15. The enthusiasm in villagers is unbeatble, be it
giving answers for survey, playing games, learning crafts or rangoli competion. We had 20
participants in total.
Along with that we has sack race for the men adults were we also saw a lot of participation.
Volunteers presented report after returning and shared their experience about the whole
camp.
It was the most tiring day of the camp but it was all worth it and in the end non-vegetarians
were treated with egg and vegetarians with gulab jamun and tomato rice.
All camps are incomplete without a bonfire. Our programme officers arranged a bonfire
after dinner and we all enjoyed to our fullest, we were now like a family and village was our
home. The feeling that the camp is going to end in a day made us feel nostalgic.
NSS volunteers were satisfied with service they did but wanted to contribute more and
surely they will contribute to the society and make the world a better place to live in.
