Message from Rev. Lea

John Wesley called us, in his formation of Wesleyanism, to

consider this question:

What do you really mean by sanctification?

His response and we hope our response is:

Love The Lord your God with your whole heart and your

neighbor as yourself.

Our churches were built as neighborhood churches, but the

neighborhood is not who is being served by the church

anymore. We are being called to think critically about the

question "Who is my neighbor"? It's an important question,

and the answer may lead us in places we don't want to go.

That's the sacrificial love Jesus is calling us to live

You can't serve people you don't love - do we love our

neighbors? Do we really love our neighbors? I think we

respond with, "Yes, we really want to love our neighbors

well." And Jesus would respond to us in the way he

responded to Peter....."Feed my sheep, tend my lambs, feed

my lambs."

I invite you to join in a season of serious prayer and

consideration to what this kind of love is calling us to both

as individuals and as the church.

Think about this.....

Jesus gives us our neighbors - we don't choose them. Love

God & Love neighbor is at the heart of the

future of the church. And it's at the

heart of what we mean by

mission.

Re-read John 15:15-19, the

story of Peter, and ask God to

show you how to love.

Blessings,

Rev. Lea

I really miss getting to play

outside and chase the

catching one!)
