Mount Ijen Crater Trekking - Amazing sunrise of Mount Ijen Trekking is one of Jewels in EastJava , Mount Ijen Crater Trekking has attracts travelers from all over the world. This trip isdesigned for you to enjoy the magnificent sunrise soft trekking up to the Mt Ijen volcano. Wecarry you through coffee and clove plantations around the village of licin and into once of Java'slast forest, rich w ildlife at the park ranger's station to begin trek to Ijen crater, along a shandytrail w ith spectacular views. Rest along in the rim of the Ijen volcanic crater lake at an elevationof 2883 meters. The lake's eerie colors and smoke wafting from bright yellow deposits along theshore to create a landscape both desolately barren and vibrantly alive. Watch miners descendinto the Ijen crater and re-emerge carrying up to 80 kilos of ore on bamboo baskets along thetreacherous path.
Since National Geographic observed the electric-blue fire from Mountain Ijen crater, tourist comesincreased. The phenomenon has passed for a long time, but beforehand at that place was nomidnight hiking. A two hour climb is required to reach the rim of the Ijen crater, followed by a 45minutes hike down to the bank of the Ijen volcanic crater. The blue flame is ignited sulphuric gas,which emerges from cracks w ith temperatures up to 600 degrees Celsius

Overall, the Alam MountBatur trek is highlyrecommended. A once in alifetime opportunity thatyou MUST do!!!
Things to pack are somesnacks for the top. Don'thave them in plastic bagsif you can help it as thereare monkeys on top of thevolcano. Also a light jacketbecause it is quite cool inthe morning and a headtorch is handy too.

The tour info center thatwe booked withrecommended ALAMRAFTING highly as theyapparently get the bestcustomer satisfactionratings and we weren'tdisappointed. It's true,ALAM has the longestrafting route (start earlyon the river and continuegoing long past all theother companies). The
tour guides are well versed in English and are funand accommodating. My favorite part of the riverwas getting out to swim in a little area where youcould do some climbing and jump into the river.This was near the end and where most othercompanies did not have access to. Ian S
