1. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL WORK IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE APPROVED PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, RICHMOND CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL AND ALL CODE REQUIREMENTS UNDER WHICH THESE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS WERE APPROVED AND ISSUED BY THE ARCHITECT.
2. ALL WORK SHALL BE IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE APPLICABLE CODES LISTED UNDER "BUILDING CODES" ON THIS SHEET AND WITH REGULATIONS OF ALL AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDITION. THIS INCLUDES STATE AND LOCAL ZONING AND BUILDING CODES AND ORDINANCES.
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REVIEW AND VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS OF BUILDING(S) AND SITE, AND SHALL NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT OF ANY DISCREPANCIES PRIOR TO EXECUTING THE WORK.

11. VERIFY CLEARANCES FOR FLUES, VENTS, CHASES, SOFFITS, FIXTURES, FIREPLACES, ETC., BEFORE ORDERING MATERIALS AND PROCEEDING WITH WORK.
12. PROVIDE FIRE-BLOCKING & DRAFT-STOPPING AT ALL HORIZONTAL & VERTICAL CONCEALED DRAFT OPENINGS. PER CODE REQ., FIRE-BLOCKING & DRAFT STOPS SHALL BE PROVIDED IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS:
A) IN CONCEALED SPACES OF STUD WALLS AND PARTITIONS, INCLUDING FURRED SPACES, AT THE CEILING AND FLOOR LEVELS & AT 10' INTERVALS BOTH VERTICAL & HORIZONTAL.
B) IN CONCEALED SPACES OF BETWEEN STAIR STRINGERS AT THE TOP AND BOTTOM OF THE RUN AND BETWEEN STUDS ALONG AND IN LINE WITH THE RUN OF THE STAIRS IF THE WALLS UNDER THE STAIRS ARE UNFINISHED.
C) IN OPENINGS AROUND VENTS, PIPES, DUCTS, CHIMNEYS, FIREPLACES AND SIMILAR OPENINGS WHICH AFFORD A PASSAGE FOR FIRE AT CEILING AND FLOOR LEVELS WITH NON-COMBUSTABLE MATERIALS.
13. EXTERIOR WINDOWS AND GLAZED DOORS SHALL BE INSULATED GLASS UNITS WITH A MINIMUM OF ONE TEMPERED PANE, OR HAVE A FIRE-RESISTANCE RATING OF NOT LESS THAN 20 MINUTES WHEN TESTED ACCORDING TO ASTM E 2010, OR CONFORM TO THE PERFORMANCE REQUIRMENTS OF SFM 12-7A-2. CBC 704.A.3.2.21. IDENTIFICATION ON SAFETY GLAZING SHALL BE PERMANENTLY MARKED, ETCHED, OR CERAMIC FIRED. CBC 2406.
14. EXTERIOR DOOR ASSEMBLIES SHALL CONFORM TO THE PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS OF SFM12-7A-1 OR SHALL BE OF APPROVED NONCOMBUSTIBLE CONSTRUCTION OR SHALL HAVE A FIRE-RESISTANCE RATING NOT LESS THAN 20 MINUTES WHEN TESTED ACCORDING TO ASTM E2074.
15. ALL TOILETS SHALL BE 17"-18" CLEAR FROM CENTERLINE OF TOILET TO SIDE WALL OR ADJACENT OBSTRUCTION. SEE SHEET A003,A004 & A005 FOR TYPICAL CBC CHAPTER 11B REQUIREMENTS.
16. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATION BETWEEN ARCHITECTURAL, STRUCTURAL, LANDSCAPE, CIVIL, MECHANICAL, PLUMBING, ELECTRICAL, AND FIRE PROTECTION. WORK SHALL INCLUDE REQUIREMENTS OF INDIVIDUAL SYSTEMS BEFORE ORDERING AND INSTALLATION OF WORK. VERIFY ALL DETAILS AND FINISH CONDITIONS (WHETHER DEPICTED IN DRAWINGS OR NOT) WITH SAME DISCIPLINES.
17. CONSTRUCTION SHALL NOT RESTRICT A FIVE-FOOT CLEAR AND UNOBSTRUCTED ACCESS TO ANY WATER OR POWER DISTRIBUTION FACILITIES (POWER POLES, PULL-BOXES, TRANSFORMERS, VAULTS, PUMPS, VALVES, METERS, APPURTENANCES, ETC.) OR TO THE LOCATION OF THE HOOK-UP. THE CONSTRUCTION SHALL NOT BE WITHIN TEN FEET OF ANY POWER LINES - WHETHER OR NOT THE LINES ARE LOCATED ON THE PROPERTY. FAILURE TO COMPLY MAY CAUSE CONSTRUCTION DELAYS AND/OR ADDITIONAL EXPENSES.
18. THE ADDRESS NUMBER OF EACH BUILDING SHALL HAVE ADDRESS NUMBERS POSTED IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE, CLEARLY VISIBLE FROM THE STREET. NUMBERS SHOULD BE MINIMUM 4 INCHES IN HEIGHT, CONTRASTING IN COLOR TO THEIR BACKGROUND, AND EITHER INTERNALLY OR EXTERNALLY ILLUMINATED.
19. ALL FLASHING SHALL BE INSTALLED IN SUCH A MANNER SO AS TO PREVENT MOISTURE FROM ENTERING THE WALL OR TO REDIRECT IT TO THE EXTERIOR OF THE BUILDING.
20. FLASHING SHALL BE INSTALLED AT EXTERIOR DOOR AND WINDOW OPENINGS, AND AT EXTERIOR WALL INTERSECTIONS WITH ROOFS, PORCHES, DECKS, BALCONIES, AND SIMILAR PROJECTIONS.
21. PLACE AND SECURE ALL ANCHOR BOLTS AND OTHER ITEMS TO BE CAST IN CONCRETE FOR FOUNDATION INSPECTION.
22. ALL MANUFACTURER'S INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS AS REQUIRED BY THIS CODE SHALL BE AVAILABLE AT THE JOB SITE AT THE TIME OF INSPECTION
23. IN NO INSTANCE SHALL STORM WATER / RAIN WATER BE CONNECTED TO ANY SANITARY SEWER OR SEPTIC SYSTEM.
