Mountain View NEWSLETTER

Well, this is official the last newsletter of the 2015/2016 school year. I cannot be-

lieve we are on the down hill slide.

The past year has been full of many fun activities for our students. And we are

already working on more fun activities for the next school year.

Last Month we had our last Fun & Fitness event at Lazer Tag and we had our

Moms & Muffins event. They were both a great success! Thank you all who organized and

came to participate in the events.

In May we have our last Book Fair, Field Day, Race for Education and our Jubilee

Day. We are looking for volunteers to allow us to have these vents. Without volunteers to

help we can’t make these events possible. So please consider helping and signing up at the

Time to Sign up link for the events. Note: Field Day & RFE you NEED your Blue ID badge.

But for Jubilee Day—you DO NOT need the volunteer badge. Our last Student Council

Spirit Day will be May 27th and the theme is a BEACH DAY! Remember to wear school

appropriate attire.

Please make sure to keep snapping pictures of those receipts for our Shoparoo

app, so we can earn more money for our school. We have announced a contest for the

remainder of the year so be sure to read the article enclosed in this newsletter.

We had our last Co-Op Meeting for the year and Executive Board Elections. The

Executive Board will stay the same as it was this year. Thank you to the current board

members for volunteering to stay on. We had no new nominees that wanted to run for any

of the board spots.

We are in need of some Chairs, Co Chairs and someone to shadow for future

years on a few of our committees. We hope you consider signing up so we don’ t have to

stop those committees from taking place.

Thank you to all the volunteers that have helped and for

the support this past school year. Looking forward to next year to

more and exciting activities for our students!

Have a wonderful Summer!!!

Sincerely,

Danielle Wylie Co-Op President

CONGRATULATIONS

EVALYN LEWIS!!!

Each year the Pennsylvania Dental Association encour-

ages teachers to participate in National Children's Dental

Health Month, known as NCDHM. This annual program,

held each February, is designed to educate Pennsylvania

youths about the importance of good oral health. 3rd

graders are asked to participate and submit a colored

poster that represents dental-health or dental-hygiene

issues. A classroom winner is selected from each class-

room and these winning posters are submitted to the PA

Dental Association for statewide judging.

Mountain View Elementary is so proud to announce that

we have a State Wide Grand Prize winner from our

school. We are happy to congratulate Evalyn Lewis from

Ms. DeLoia’s class as the 1st place winner statewide.

Evalyn will receive a framed copy of her poster along with

other prizes at a ceremony to be held at Mountain View

Elementary.

All winning posters and Honorable mentions named can be viewed on the Pennsylvania Dental Association web-site http://www.padental.org (go under Public then to Teachers and then to NCDHM). Congratulations Evalyn!

THANK YOU! Thank you to all those that came out for our fun and fitness events during this school year 2015/2016. You made them a great success and the kids re-ally had a great time hanging out and most of the parents enjoyed the dis-counted rates as well. Your participa-tion and children's enthusiasm is why we do these events and what makes us work hard to do them in the coming years'. We are looking forward to next year already and are in the beginning planning stages to make things even more fun and get our families out and about to local venues and kids together outside of school and sports. 2016/2017 will hopefully be filled with even more great events so get ready to mark your calendars. We are looking forward to our first full revenue gener-ating skating party in September of 2016 and our annual back to school family fun night out in September/October 2016. Last year was a big hit with parent vs. kid dodge ball and our other activities, thanks to the parents that made that event great, your help was really appreciated. Stay tuned early in the year for these event dates and more and more scheduled fun to come. Don't forget to check the co-op calendar for these events as we get closer to the school year starting so that you are able to join us. Thank you again and enjoy your summer plans and fun! - Lisa Kelly
