MOUNTAIN VILLAGE PROJECT, SCHEMATIC DESIGN: GENERAL INTERIOR PERSPECTIVES; LIVING ROOM .

NORTHEAST PERSPECTIVE: There are 2 distinct axis in this plan. The main Axis #1 is at the long center of the Great Room. A secondary Axis

#2 is based at the stairwell and terminates at the clearstory space. Axis #2 is important to light, views and most of all, the manor that all other roof

forms are connected. Axis #1 is supported by Doug Fir timber columns and trusses. Axis # 2 uses steel columns.

Rusty metal roofing, Telluride Gold stone and dark stained cedar are the remaining materials used.

SOUTHEAST PERSPECTIVE: Needle Peaks is the most desirable view with Gold Hill and the ski area. I have oriented the home so these views

are seen from all interior spaces. Mount Wilson Peak is also seen from the entry level, decks and the upper loft area.

SOUTHWEST PERSPECTIVE: The deck and patio areas will be great outdoor spaces to entertain and see the views in the summer. Golf

course fairways, hiking tails and the evening sunset makes this site perfect for evening dining on the Great Room deck.

ENTRY APPROACH PERSPECTIVE: The street side elevation is designed to provide privacy with smaller openings and a stately feel.

Most of this side is stone with traces of Doug Fir timber frames, a couple of steel columns and some dark stained cedar siding. This

elevation is designed to conform to site conditions at the street side and surprise the one who enters the home with clearstory expanse of

view and openness.

ENTRY LEVEL PLAN: View from the front door is key. Circulation space is minimal and windows are plentiful.

LOWER LEVEL PLAN: All spaces have access to covered outside sitting areas.

UPPER LEVEL PLAN: Loft over the Kitchen is for reading or an office. Views of Mt. Wilson and the Needles can be seen from the loft.

SITE AND ROOF PLAN: From this plan, one can see how the Axis #2 pulls all the roofs together.
