Universal Terminal (UT) Connection
Opening Paragraph:
Screw cage terminal blocks from Phoenix Contact have been
used in every industry from around the world. This screw
technology has been Phoenix Contact’s number one selling connection type since 1928.
They meet the highest requirements, impress with their maintenance-free conductor
connection. Ferrule or no ferrule, this connection type is able to handle both.
READ MORE:
Retightening a screw is a hassle and will cost your company more money down the road.
With Phoenix Contact’s screw connection technology, it is not necessary to retighten the
terminal block screws, since they are prevented from backing out by the Reakdyn
principle (see figure 1), a screw locking technique developed by Phoenix Contact.
The metal components of UT screw-connection terminal blocks from Phoenix Contact
are not made from low quality corrosion prone metals. Instead, Phoenix Contact uses a
high quality corrosion proof
copper alloy, the same type
of metal used in
conductors. This ensures
low resistance on every
connection, and
eliminates the possibility of galvanic
corrosion.

Push-in Technology (PT) Connection
Opening Paragraph:
Push-in terminal blocks from Phoenix Contact, allow you to wire your
application from the field to the controller easier and more consistently. Simply
push in the conductor to make a secure, reliable, time saving connection.
Read More:
Push-in connection technology was developed for quick direct wire termination. The special spring
profile enables effortless insertion of conductors with ferrules from 24 AWG. When a conductor is
inserted into the connection point, the contact spring is opened automatically, which will then provide
the required pressure force against the current bar. The contact spring provides a sufficient amount of
pressure, to allow the PT block to be fully vibration resistant, gas-tight and 100% reliable for your
company’s industry. Both for releasing
conductors and connecting small cross
sections from 26 AWG, the spring is opened by
means of the actuation lever-easily and
without direct contact with live parts. The
actuation lever can be operated with all
standard screwdrivers or even a ballpoint pen.
Phoenix Contact uses a high quality corrosion
proof copper alloy, the same type of metal
used by conductors. This ensures low
impedance on every connection, and
eliminates the possibility of galvanic corrosion.
Spring-Cage Terminal (ST) Connection
Starting Paragraph:
One of the most important aspects of managing your control cabinet is
maximizing the space you have to work with. When developing the spring-cage
terminal block, Phoenix Contact kept your cabinet in mind. Thanks to the space-saving design and
conductor entry from above, the ST blocks are ideal for control systems where limited space is available,
Read More:
The spring-cage terminal blocks, part of the CLIPLINE complete system, can withstand harsh
environments, due to the powerful spring-loaded contact force it provides. The contact force is so
strong; Phoenix Contact guarantees a vibration-proof, gas-tight connection with long-term stability.
The compact front connection ensures easy operation, and can be open with the ease of a screwdriver.
After the conductor has been
inserted into the clamping space,
the screwdriver is removed and the
conductor automatically makes
contact. All kinds of copper
conductors up to 2 AWG can be
clamped without any pretreatment.
Thanks to a rugged design, and the
use of high-grade materials, Phoenix
Contact terminal blocks exceed the
requirements of many standards.
This enables their use in Power
Generation, Transportation, Process
engineering, and many other industries.
QUICKON Terminal (QT) Connection
Starting Paragraph:
If you are looking for a fast reliable connection, then the QUICKON terminal
block from Phoenix Contact is perfect for you. This insulation displacement
terminal block allows you to terminate wires without any preparation, a 60% time savings on every
block! No stripping and no crimping. The cables just need to be cut to length for contact to be made in a
matter of seconds; also an important characteristic is the space-saving connection with patented
insulation displacement contact.
Read More:
To use the QUICKON terminal block, conductor connections are clearly identified by engagement points,
simply insert your standard screw driver to operate. When a conductor is connected, the insulation is
cut open, creating a reliably quick,
gas-tight contact.
The patented contact metals for the
fast connection terminal blocks,
from Phoenix Contact, are made
from corrosion-free materials. This
means that the conductive metals
consist of high-grade copper alloys,
and the surfaces of the metal parts
are protected by lead-free, galvanic
nickel or tin plating. Phoenix Contact
is committed to using only the most
reliable resources for their products.
Ring-lug Terminal (RT) Connection
Starting Paragraph:
Work in comfort, ease and safety with bolt connection terminal blocks from Phoenix Contact. Designed
with safety in mind to connect conductors with cross sections up to 500 kcmil (240 mm²), the innovative
hinged cover provides a captive nut to make wiring ring lugs quick, easy and safe.
Read More:
The bolt connection can be utilized as a space saving terminal block as well. A unique characteristic of
the bolt connection is the often required multi-conductor connection, on which up to four cable lugs can
be connected per bolt. Your cabinet could essentially have 8 conductors per terminal block, which will
save your company a lot of space and money.
Phoenix Contact’s terminal blocks are made from corrosion-free materials, which mean the conductive
metals consist of high-grade copper
alloys. The surfaces of the metal
parts are also protected by lead-
free, galvanic nickel or tin plating.
Phoenix Contact is committed to
using only the most reliable
resources for their products, so that
your company can focus on what it
does best.
COMBI Plug-in Connection
Starting Paragraph:
If your industry requires screw, push-in, spring-cage, or fast connection
technologies, the COMBI Plug-in connection from Phoenix Contact, is the
innovative technology that your cabinet is missing. The COMBI plug-in system’s distinguishing feature is
its standardized plug-in zone. This makes it possible to freely combine basic terminal blocks with any of
the above mentioned connection types.
