Moving abroad can be both exciting and scary at the same time. It is always a big step to leave your home, family and friends, especially if it's for good, so careful planning is a must. Here are

few simple, yet important tips on how to plan your moving abroad and have a stress-free move.

Research

Regardless of the purpose of your move, be it due to work commitments, studying or simply

because you want a change, you have to research the country you are planning to move to. And research it well. Nowadays, we are lucky because the Internet can provide us with all the

necessary information we need. There are plenty of articles available to read, plus you can always register in specialised forums, etc. When you are researching, the main things you want

to know are the customs and the culture of the foreign country. The tax regulations, living costs, property prices, all this is also important, so make sure you read carefully everything you can get

your hands to. Register in an expat forum and ask questions, search for blogs of people who are living in that country. Everything will help.

Packing

Once you have done your research and you are ready for the new adventure, there comes the

hardest part - packing! "Should I take this", "should I leave that", these type of questions are natural and you will be asking yourself a lot. The best practice is to leave as many of your

belongings behind as possible. In your new country they do have shopping malls, you know, so reduce the amount of clothes and other belongings that you can easily find in your new location.

Take only what is absolutely necessary.

Then, there comes another issue - how to get your stuff to your new home. Well, if you are

moving overseas there are only two ways - either ship them or fly them. Usually shipping is cheaper, but I suggest you get in touch with a removals company and I am sure they will help

you find the best deal.

Of course, before you leave I assume you have sorted your housing and have a job waiting for

you. If not, I would strongly suggest you deal with that prior to your departure, because the last thing you want is to arrive in a new place without a roof over your head and stay without any

income. If you have all that sorted, then it would be a good idea to check how far is from the airport and how to get there as easy as possible.

Finally, make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months before entering the new country and if you require visa, try to get it well before your departure.
