Complete Openness
What is
Open Souce?Firefox exposed the entire source code –
the very nuts & bolts of what makes it all work – to the world and encouraged everyone to have a look.
Some people saw things to improve and made the fixes. Others had ideas for new features and made them happen. And others yet took that code, applied their own innovations and built completely new (and amazing) products.
What is
Organic Software?First of all, Firefox is one product of a
community called Mozilla. It is a non-profit, public benefit international organization, devoted to building communities and enriching people’s lives. They don’t even have stock!
For example, FF is a 100% organic software which aims at promoting openness, innovation and opportunity on the web. It is created by an international movement of thousands, only a small percentage of whom are actual employees.
The browser isnot alone!
Not only the browser itself is open, the webpage you see via Firefox is open, too!

Quotes…
• As software companies go, we’re a little unusual.
• Being open means good things will happen. Anyone can peek behind our curtains…in fact, there really aren’t any curtains at all.

Limitless Customization
One Size Doesn’t Fit All
We add toppings to our pizza and ringtones to our phone.
So why not customize the way we view the web?
Firefox is mostly famous for and aiming at and looking forward to and
taking pride in its enormous incredible add-ons(extensions) from
its staff and people around the world. Good people are alive!

Market Research
1 Billion & Guinness Record
Firefox was born in sep 2004. Now in its 5th year, while running the 2nd beta version of 3.1, FF will soon release the mobile version, called Fennec.
The latest info reveals that the total download number of FF add-ons has reached 1 billion. In July, when FF 3.0 was first released, it had even set a Guinness Record with 8,002,530 downloads within 24 hours.
About Market Share
According to the newest statistics from the Net Applications Research Company, the market share of Firefox has reached 20.78%, while IE has dropped below 70%.
Mozilla CEO John Lilly thinks it is a great success the international community made together, and Firefox will be bigger and stronger. But the competition in browser industry is more intense than ever. With Chrome getting involved, the result would be almost impossible to foretell.
