MPCA’s Virtual Wastewater and Collections Conference

Conference highlights• Experience the MPCA Annual Conference in a virtual setting. Our fully online conference will provide attendees

with opportunities for networking with their peers, MPCA staff, and vendors alike.

• The conference will be hosted in a platform called Pheedloop which will feature a variety of sessions on topics including collections, wastewater, new technologies and treatment systems, regulations, infrastructure, compliance, safety & security, and much more.

• The virtual conference will also feature a tradeshow showcasing a wide variety of products and services. The tradeshow will take place each day between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. During this time you can visit exhibitors, vendors, AskPCA staff, and industry professionals.

• As a participant, you will be able to obtain point codes using the “gamification” feature. Point codes will be tracked and recorded as you engage in the conference and explore everything there is to offer. Obtaining point codes through the Gamification feature will make attendees eligible for door prizes offered by vendors and exhibitors.

The MPCA cannot award contact hours unless the operator is in attendance. Contact hours are individually awarded based on each operator’s daily arrival and departure time. The 2 days the conference is presented live will be worth 12 wastewater hours, and operators will have the opportunity to obtain 4 more hours within 60 days of the conference with a maximum of 16 hours being available. The presentations will be available during the weeks following the conference to facilitate in reaching the 16 contact hour maximum. However, you are welcome to watch any or all the presentations available even upon reaching the cap.

session featuring Minnesota’s Senior Climatologist Kenny Blumenfeld Ph.D. Kenny will describe Minnesota’s changing hydro-climate and what wastewater operators might expect for trends in the years ahead that will impact wastewater collections and treatment facilities. On Wednesday the conference will begin with a keynote address featuring Katrina Kessler, Commissioner of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. Commissioner Kessler will highlight current and future regulatory challenges as well as sharing the strategic vision and shared goals for the next 5 to 10 years and the importance of working together to help us reach these goals. Following the plenary sessions on both days, attendees will follow their personal schedule set prior to the conference by attending individual presentations from dozens of industry leaders working hard to build and sustain the wastewater and collections industry.
