INTRODUCING THE EB PRESS
The EB fl exo press, an affordable alternative in fl exo
printing, features a solid machine construction with
self-evident high print quality, predictable and reliable
productivity, and operator-friendly press operation.
Available with a print width of 360 mm, a material
width of 368 mm, and a confi guration of up to 10 print
stations, the EB press brings a modular design and is
an ideal solution for the printing and converting of self-
adhesive labels in both short and long label print runs.
THE EB CUSTOMER
Built with a simplifi ed and cost-effective design of proven
technology found in premium MPS presses, the EB press
is a solution for companies starting out in label produc-
tion and established printers wishing to expand their
label production with a cost-effective label press. The EB
press is well-suited for label printers in markets including
household, food, pharmaceutical, beverage, retail and
automotive, in addition to personal care and more.
With a modular design, the EB press can be upgraded as
label requirements change, providing an advantage for com-

CRISP.DOT LIGHT TECHNOLOGY:
SUPERIOR PRINT QUALITY
Predictable, high-quality label printing
including vignettes and solids is guaranteed with
Crisp.Dot Light, as the gear profi le has no connection
between impression and plate cylinders resulting in
no gear marking.
iSET TECHNOLOGY:
INTELLIGENT PRESSURE SETTINGS
With the user-friendly iSet technology, not only
the pressure settings of the plate cylinder/anilox
roller can be set left and right, but also parallel.
iSet improves changeover times, decreases set-up
waste and delivers reliable and repeatable quality.
iSTOP TECHNOLOGY:
ZERO WASTE AT ROLL CHANGE
While the press is stopped for a roll change, the
print cylinder and anilox roller will remain in print
position thanks to iStop technology. Once the
press is re-started, the print units resume printing
without any waste.
THE WINE LABEL
This eye-catching wine label is printed on blank self-adhesive
paper. Cold foil can be applied in the heading or in the label frame
for a decorative metallic fi nish. The detailed litho print is with a
crisp black colour, with the remaining label printed in four colours.
THE HOUSEHOLD LABEL
This vibrant laundry detergent label is printed with a four colour
process using spotless technology. With this process, large fl at
areas of colour can be produced providing clear and rich colours.
THE FOOD LABEL
This food label stands out with a full-colour image and unique label
shape die cut on the EB press. Printing on thermal paper and low
migration inks is well supported by the EB press.

Robust engineeRing

MPS is focused on developing and
building printing presses that are built to

Flexible conveRting
Various converting applications, such as a web turner
bar, de-lam/re-lam, and laminating solutions including
cold foil can be implemented at any location along the
press using the flexible positioning rail system. A range
of drying options are also available, including UV drying,
IR combination drying and hot air drying.

The quick-lock doctor blade, quick-
change ink pan and anilox roll with
handles were designed by MPS to provide
extremely fast job changeovers, a clean
printing environment and ease of use.
ease oF opeRation
In addition to the operator-friendly iSet control with tangible
click function to control print pressure settings, MPS
developed the digital iControl button to enhance interaction
between the press operator and the press. The optional
iControl is designed with user-friendly reference clicks and an
illuminated ring with LED lights to indicate machine mode.

PRE-REGISTER SOLUTION
MPS designed an intelligent manual pre-register
solution in order to minimize both waste and time
during set-up. This solution includes a pre-register
disk on the print cylinder that can be easily adjus-
ted by the press operator.
FULL LENGTH RAIL SYSTEM
The EB is built with a fl exible positioning rail sys-
tem without realignment. The rail units unlock
and relock quickly and are easy to move. Various
rail-based converting applications can be imple-
mented at any location along the press using this
rail system.
iSTRIP MATRIX REWINDING
With iStrip tension controlled stripping technology,
the press can die-cut and strip matrix at very high
speeds, even when the label shape and material
are very diffi cult to strip. Speeds have been
reported up to 200m/min (600ft/min).
QUICK CHANGE DIE STATION
The EB is standard equipped with a quick change
die system, which enables the press operator to
quickly open and close the system without the need
for lifting bridges. With the MPS quick change die
loading system and lay-off table, logistics can be
optimized as well.
DIGITAL SERVO DRIVE,
CONTROLS AND MORE
Bosch Rexroth servo technology with touch screens
control the unwinder lift, splice table, web cleaner,
infeed nip, press start/stop, in/out pressure, print
cylinder lifts, slow rotation, jog/idle/run, speed
settings, iStop, rewinder tension/direction, and
optionally register control and AutoTeach.
