We’re kids under construction; our Father, the Builder, has a master plan. We’re kids under construction; we’re a new creation by His mighty hand. We’re kids under construction, created in Jesus, we’re His masterpiece. We’re kids under construction, and hand in hand together we work for our King!

I’ll follow after Jesus and always do my best, ’cause I’m a work in progress, and He’s not finished yet. Just one look and you can see that He’s still workin’ on me. He promised to walk by my side and make me all that I can be!

2We’re kids under construction; our Father, the Builder, has a master plan. We’re kids under construction; we’re a new creation by His mighty hand. We’re kids under construction, created in Jesus, we’re His masterpiece. We’re kids under construction, and hand in hand together we work for our King!

He’s still workin’ on me to make me what I ought to be. It took Him just a week to make the moon and stars, the sun and the Earth and Jupiter and Mars. How loving and patient He must be, ’cause He’s still workin’ on me!

We’re kids under construction; our Father, the Builder, has a master plan. We’re kids under construction; we’re a new creation by His mighty hand. We’re kids under construction! Yeah!

WE’RE KIDS UNDER CONSTRUCTION

FAITH FOUNDATION: God has a master plan, and I am in His hands!

SCRIPTURE SUPPORT:“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10

“For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.” 1 Corinthians 3:19

PARENT PARTICIPATION: Construction zones are everywhere. But have you ever thought of your own life as a construction zone? From the moment we are born, we are a work in progress, or “under construction.” Building a life of faith takes effort and grace. How are you building and setting a solid foundation of faith in your own heart? With your family? Make plans as a family for ways to encourage one another to grow in faith. Maybe you memorize scripture together, take time to pray each morning before you go your separate ways, or attend church together as a family. No matter what you do, remember that you can trust God has a plan for you, and you are in the Master Builder’s hands!

It’s gotta go! It’s gotta go! It’s a radical position. We need a demolition. This much we know, it’s gotta go. There’s no value in it, so let’s not waste a minute. We know with out a doubt we’ve got to clear it out! HUH! It’s gotta go! It’s gotta go!

It’s a radical position. We need a demolition. Let’s not mess around. It’s comin’ down! We’re done with the talkin’! It’s time to get things rockin’! We know without a doubt we’ve gotta clear it out! HUH! It’s gotta go! It’s gotta go!

The leaky roof, the broken glass, the shaky walls, they won’t last! The busted pipes, the rusty door, remove the tile from the floor. Woah, woah, woah! Now you know! Now you know! Woah, woah, woah! It’s gotta go! It’s gotta go! Woah, woah, woah! Now you know! Now you know! Woah, woah, woah! It’s gotta go! It’s gotta go!

MR. CARPENTER: God’s Word tells us the we are a new creation in Christ Jesus. We are to daily put off the old sinful damaging practices. The old nature, IT’S GOTTA GO!

The pride in me, my jealous ways, my greedy hands, my selfish days, the useless fights, the hurtful lies, my old nature had to die. Woah, woah, woah! Now I know! Now I know!

Woah, woah, woah! It’s gotta go! It’s gotta go!

It’s a radical position, a brand-new transformation. 4

I’ll never be the same, nothing old remains. It’s a radical position, a brand new transformation. He changed my heart of stone. It had to go! Woah, woah, woah! Now I know! Now I know! My old nature had to go! It had to go. Woah, woah, woah! Now I know! Now I know! My old nature had to go! It had to go. HUH!

DEMOLITIONFAITH FOUNDATION: God makes me new and improved!+

SCRIPTURE SUPPORT:“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” 2 Corinthians 5:17

PARENT PARTICIPATION:Scripture tells us that when we trust in Jesus, “the old has gone, the new has come.” God is at work in our lives. He is both the wrecking ball and the builder. When we trust in Him, our old ways like jealousy, deceit, and greed are replaced by respect, truth, and generosity. Share with your child one way that God has changed your heart since you put your trust in Him. How are you “new and improved?”

I seek Godly wisdom on how to build my life. And daily I surrender. Lord, help me do what’s right, renewing my mind and reaching in love, and like Jesus, please my Father up above.

More, more, more like my Jesus, like Him ev’ry day. More, more, more like my Jesus, like Him, in ev’ry way! More, more, more like my Jesus, like Him ev’ry day. More, more, more like my Jesus, like Him, in ev’ry way!

Like Jesus, I wanna grow in wisdom. Like Jesus, I wanna grow in stature, too, and find favor with God and man. My Jesus, I wanna grow like You.

Did you hear of a builder who thought he was wise? “I’ll do it my way; I don’t need your advice!” So he started building right there on the shore. “Oh what a view! Who could ask for more?” So he built a castle right there on the sand, and he was so proud, He was quite the man! He really thought he was the man.

MR. CARPENTER: So he built on the sand… hmm. But there’s another kind of builder who was wise.

Now there was a builder who built on the rock. “A solid foundation; I’m trustin’ in God.” And nothing could stop him; he worked day and night. “Stone upon stone, I’ve gotta build it just right!” So he built his home; he followed God’s plan. And they worked to gether; he knew it would stand. He knew with God that it would stand!

The rains came down; the floods came up. The mighty ocean roared. And one was safe, and one was lost. One trusted in the Lord!

Sand castles just can’t stand. You need the Rock! Sand castles made by human hands. You need the Rock! Sand castles all fall down. You’ve gotta build your home on Solid Ground! You need the Rock!

Sand castles just can’t stand. You need the Rock! Sand castles made by human hands. You need the Rock! Sand castles all fall down. You’ve gotta build your home on Solid Ground!

Build it on the Rock! You gotta build it on the Solid Rock!

Build it on the Rock! You gotta build it on the Solid Rock!

Sand castles just can’t stand. You need the Rock! Sand castles made by human hands. You need the Rock! Sand castles all fall down. You’ve gotta build your home on Solid Ground! And through the winds and storms it won’t fall down! You just gotta build your home on Solid Ground! You need the Rock!

BUILDING ON THE ROCKFAITH FOUNDATION: When I follow God’s plan, my faith will stand!

SCRIPTURE SUPPORT:“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” Matthew 7:24-27

PARENT PARTICIPATION:Go for a drive together. Be on the lookout for construction sites. Point out to your children that for each structure or building, there must be a foundation. If possible, drive to a site where there is only a foundation, no frame or structure yet. Stop at this site and read Matthew 7:24-27 above. Explain that our lives need a solid foundation, too. Our foundation is our trust in God. Say a prayer, asking God to help you build lives of faith by trusting God and obeying His Word. Pray also, when you stop, for those who will soon live or work in the structure being built, that they may know and trust God, too.

Blessed are the poor in spirit. Blessed are all those who weep. Blessed are the meek and humble and all who thirst for righteousness. Blessed are the merciful and blessed are the pure in heart. Blessed are the peacemakers and all who are judged for righteousness.

We live diff’rently ’cause we’re livin’ for our King. We walk by faith not by sight. So take a look inside. Does this describe your life? Are you walking daily in the Light? Are you walking daily in the Light?

Blessed are the poor in spirit. Blessed are all those who weep. Blessed are the meek and humble and all who thirst for righteousness. Blessed are the merciful and blessed are the pure in heart. Blessed are the peacemakers and all who are judged for righteousness.

We will be blessed when we give Him our best. We are the salt and the light of the world! We will show love like the Father above. We are the salt and the light of the world!

(Smallgroup joins)Blessed are the poor in spirit. Blessed are all those who weep. Blessed are the meek and humble and all who thirst for righteousness. Blessed are the merciful and blessed are the pure in heart. Blessed are the peacemakers and all who are judged for righteousness. Blessed are you when you’re faithful and true. Blessed, blessed are you.

BEATITUDES

FAITH FOUNDATION: I want to have an attitude of gratitude!

SCRIPTURE SUPPORT:“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:3-10

PARENT PARTICIPATION:When we follow Jesus, our lives and the character we demonstrate may seem contrary to the way the world around us operates. We can be a light for Christ by living with an attitude of gratitude for all God has done for us both through Jesus and through His daily provision. Create a “blessings” jar for your family dinner table. Every night have each family member write on a small slip of paper one thing they are thankful for and place it in the jar. On days when things seem difficult or at the end of each month, draw slips from the jar and praise God for these “blessings.” Challenge one another to live with an attitude of gratitude.

“You know you’re irritating me,” said the oyster to the sand. “You’re just one little grain, but you’re more than I can stand!” But God knew what He was doin’, the time that it would take, the trials would be worth it, to form the pearl that He would make.

Your ways are higher. Lord, Your ways are wiser. You turn my trials to blessings in disguise. Your ways are higher. Lord, Your ways are wiser. You turn my trials to blessings in disguise. You turn my trials to blessings in disguise!

“I was happy in the ground,” said the rock to the refiner. “Why did you dig me up? And throw me in the fire?” God knew what He was doin’, and right before our eyes the rock turned in to gold when the flames had purified!

Your ways are higher. Lord, Your ways are wiser. You turn my trials to blessings in disguise. Your ways are higher. Lord, Your ways are wiser. You turn my trials to blessings in disguise. You turn my trials to blessings in disguise!

“This is more than I can bear,” my soul cried out to the Lord! “You could make it go a way. I can’t take it any more!” ’Cause God knew what He was doin’, through Him I’d overcome. He’s make me strong and holy, and I’d hear Him say, “Well done!”

Your ways are higher. Lord, Your ways are wiser. You turn my trials to blessings in disguise. Your ways are higher. Lord, Your ways are wiser. You turn my trials to blessings in disguise. You turn my trials to blessings in disguise!

12I will trust You when I cannot see. I will trust You, have Your way in me. I will trust You when I cannot see. I will trust You, have Your way in me.

Your ways are higher. Lord, Your ways are wiser. You turn my trials to blessings in disguise. Your ways are higher. Lord, Your ways are wiser. You turn my trials to blessings in disguise! Your ways are higher. You’ve opened up my eyes! You turn my trials to blessings in disguise!

Lord, I come to You. I’m calling on Your name. Lord, I worship You. Please hear the words I pray. Lord, I am Yours; now have Your way. I will listen and I’ll obey.

For I know You know the plans for me, for I know You know what’s best for me— plans to prosper, not to harm, for You hold me in Your arms— plans for a future and a hope. Father, I trust You so.

You thought of me before You formed the heavens with a marvelous dream for my life. So come and dwell within me, make my heart Your home, and with Your help I’ll be what You’ve designed.

PRAISE HIMFAITH FOUNDATION: Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!

SCRIPTURE SUPPORT:“Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.” Psalm 150

PARENT PARTICIPATION:Breathe in. Breathe out. Are you breathing? Then you are called to praise the Lord! Read Psalm 150 with your family. Talk about ways you can praise God even in the simplest things you do—like brushing your teeth. Sounds silly, right? But when we take care of ourselves, we are honoring God, our Creator. What other ways can you praise God at home, at school, at work, and in your community? Think beyond music and beyond the walls of the church building. Praise God wherever you go, whatever you do!

87 Song: Finale(Building on the Rock! / We’re Kidz Under Construction / He’s Still Workin’ on Me)

Build it on the Rock! You gotta build it on the Solid Rock! Build it on the Rock! You gotta build it on the Solid Rock!

He’s still workin’ on me to make me what I ought to be. It took Him just a week to make the moon and stars, the sun and the Earth and Jupiter and Mars. How loving and patient He must be, ’cause He’s still workin’ on me!

MEDLEY AND CURTAIN CALLSFAITH FOUNDATION: Jesus is my firm foundation!

SCRIPTURE SUPPORT:“Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.” 1 Timothy 1:17

PARENT PARTICIPATION:In preparation for this musical, we have discovered that from the time we are born, we are “under construction,” ever-changing and ever-growing. We will not be made complete until we join our Savior in heaven. Until then, we are all a work in progress. So, what does that mean for today? It means we must allow God to do a “demolition” job on our lives, making us new, as we trust in His perfect plan and strive to be more like Jesus. Spend time as a family praying for all involved in the preparations for the musical as well as those who will attend.
