PROMOTIONS

• CHOSEN BY SPIRIT• While they were worshiping the Lord and

fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” 3 So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off. (ACTS 13 :2-3)

• SELF CONTROLNESS :REJOICING UNDER FIRE• NOT DISCOURAGED BY REJECTION AND

warning to them and went to Iconium. 52 And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit .(ACTS 13:51-52)

MESSAGE

• But the one whom God raised from the dead did not see decay (ACTS 13:37)

• Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. (ACTS 13:38)

• We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said.(ACRS 14:22)

FAILURES

• ASTRAYED BY HYPOCRSY • For before certain men came from James,

peter used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group. 13 The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray.(GAL 2:12-13)

CONTROVERSY

• CONTROVERSY : LOSING PARTNERSHIP • When they arrived at Salamis, they

proclaimed the word of God in the Jewish synagogues. John was with them as their helper. (ACTS 13:5)

• From Paphos, Paul and his companions sailed to Perga in Pamphylia, where John left them to return to Jerusalem.(ACTS 13:13)

• Barnabas wanted to take John, also called Mark, with them, 38 but Paul did not think it wise to take him, because he had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not continued with them in the work. 39 They had such a sharp disagreement that they parted company. Barnabas took Mark and sailed for Cyprus (ACTS 15:37-39)

DEATH CERTIFICATE

certain Jews coming to Syria and Salamis, where Barnabas was then preaching the gospel, being highly exasperated at his extraordinary success,, dragged him out, and, after the most inhumane tortures, stoned him to death.
