Class of 2014
A big thank you to Mr. Derk Janssen for
being such a great English teacher and
mentor to all of his students. It has been
a great pleasure to get to know the man
through his students, and how they
obviously have become great young men
and women with his guidance.
To the Students in Mr. Derk Janssen’s
last English Class
It is the human touch in this world that
counts, the touch of your hand in mine, it
means far more to fainting heart, than
shelter, bread or wine. For shelter is
gone when the night grows cold, and
bread lasts only a day, but the touch of
your hand and the sound of your voice
lives on in my soul always. (An Irish Saying)

DEDICATED TO MR. DERK JANSSEN…. . A POEM
FROM: MADDY DELP-MCCRADY
BY ROBERT FROST
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Your Little Corner Please don't underestimate your contribution, Life needs you to secure your little corner of the world, It may seem small to you, But all corners are important, It takes success in many, many parts for the Whole to work, So stay with it, and take pride in that little corner, that little space, that you're able to create and se-cure…… Derk Janssen
We do not leap for joy with passion
That stirs the restless heart’s undying mission-But in-
stead, standing still, our breaths are caught, unable to
breathe, gasping, overcome for naught by the violent
rush coursing through expanding veins; Ever-present,
the sensation remains
Frozen feet and a frenzied, dancing heart
Are the testament of existence,
Beautiful, Cruel—both near and far apart,
This state of being, pull and pull, a savage countenance
The pulse throbs, crying out:
“I’m alive, I’m alive!”
Declaring the accomplishment with rancorous shouts
-the eternal celebration of life
