In a series entitled “PFDs that Work”, published by the National Institute of Occupational Safe

and Health, commercial fishermen were asked to wear the PFDs for one month while workin

on deck to rate the comfort, mobility, durability and overall acceptability. We were proud to s

Re-arm kits are easy to install and include all required components to re-arm a PFD after it has been inflated.Bobbins for Halkey-Roberts auto inflators should be replaced on a regular basis. It was a simple question that evolved into a study lead by Mustang Survival to delve into the qu

tion of what colour to wear to improve your chances of survival on the water. The study, tit

On Water Visibility , tested and scientifically validated the most conspicuous colour for use

Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) and Immersion Suits when viewed on the water and in varying lig

conditions. Results were conclusive: Wear fluorescent yellow-green to be seen.

When developing the MRV150 Universal Swift Water Rescue Vest, the Mustang design team lev

aged the knowledge gleaned from the study to create a product that would provide high visibility

a full range of operational scenarios. The extreme colour gradients coupled with the reflectivity

over 62 square inches of SOLAS tape were tested and approved by top water rescue operators a

teams throughout North America. Breaking from tradition, the MRV150 is the most visible resc

vest available on the market.

Continuing our commitment to our commercial and industrial partners meant designing a new ad

to our product line: the 4-ONE SOLAS Life Jacket. On the surface, this could appear to be a fairly

project. Look a little closer though and you will see some complexities.

Mustang serves customers in many different countries. The easy way to design a product to mee

of their needs was to create a separate product for each of them. The riskier and more challenging

was to create just one product that met all of their requirements. So we took the more challengingWhile it took several prototypes and a lengthy test protocol, the team was ultimately successful in g

WHAT IS ”CLO” AND WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

”Clo” is a measurement of the thermal comfort of a suit or device (CLOthing Insulation). One

”Clo” represents the thermal comfort of an average person in business clothing in a room

temperature indoor environment. Fractions of this thermal comfort are what are perceived when

worn in the water. Each of the values are below 1.0 because water transfers heat out of the

body 25 times faster than air.

Our products are interlined with our exclusive AirSoft™ closed cell foam. This foam not only

provides maximum insulation against the cold, it also keeps you afloat to protect you from
