Welcome to the 2015-2016 School Year!
I will oversee your child’s IEP this year as their
Intervention Specialist. Other Intervention Specialists and/or aides will be working with your child in addition to myself. Terri Weitzel and Susan Schiach are the other two Intervention Specialists who may work with your child either in the classroom or the resource room. We will be working together very closely to ensure your child’s IEP goals are met.
Here’s to a FANtastic Year!

Behavior Management Whitewater Valley Elementary, as well as all of the Southwest Schools,
introduced a Positive Behavior Program last year. In the Wildcat folder you will find an expected behaviors matrix for the entire school. Please go over these behaviors with your children and remind them of the 4 good character qualities expected at school: Trust, Respect, Ownership, and Leadership.
Each classroom at Whitewater Valley Elementary has a management chart with
colored cards. The children start out on green everyday which means they are behaving appropriately and following the school rules. If the children do not follow the rules their cards get changed. The consequences are as follows: yellow card-warning, orange card-lose 15 minutes of recess, red card-lose 30 minutes of recess, blue card-call parents, and purple card-go to the principal. If a behavior problem is very serious, the child will automatically be sent to the principal and the parents will be called.
Students can randomly earn “Cat Cash” for behaving appropriately and
completing work on time. This “cash” can be used to purchase rewards at the Cat Store.
