FADE IN:EXT. DANVERS FAMILY SUMMER HOME - NIGHTA summer home near a lake with a clear view of the night sky. CAROL DANVERS, age eight, is staring at the stars. She is approached by her father, JOSEPH DANVERS, who places his hand on her shoulder.

JOSEPHStaring into space again?CAROLThe stars are all so clear. I can't see the planets, but one day I will.JOSEPHAre you going to build a massive telescope?CAROLNo. I'm going to build a spaceship.JOSEPHAn astronaut? Don't let anyone tell you that you don't dream big, kid.CAROLI'm going to be the greatest astronaut ever. I'm going to go on adventures and see stars and planets nobody has ever seen before!

Joseph laughs and picks up Carol, holding her in his arms. He then kisses her on the cheek.CAROLYou believe I can do it, don't you, daddy?JOSEPHOf course I do. I think you're destined for the stars, Carol.

Joseph and Carol embrace again as the voice of Carol's mother, MARIE DANVERS, is heard from the house.MARIEJoseph! Is Carol still out there? It's almost midnight!

2.

JOSEPHWe'll be inside in a minute!Joseph places Carol on the ground, and then gets on one knee next to her.

JOSEPHBefore we go inside, I want to give you something.Joseph reaches into his pocket and pulls out a red scarf.

CAROLA scarf? But, it's summer, daddy.JOSEPHThis isn't just any scarf, Carol. This is your grandfather's lucky scarf that he had when he was on his own adventure across the ocean.

EXT. TRENCH IN FRANCE - DAYA trench in France during WWII. Carol's grandfather, WALTER DANVERS, lies still in the trench as explosions rock the air overhead. Walter opens fire on enemy HYDRA troops as they approach the trench. As Walter sits down under cover, he clutches his red scarf close to his chest.

JOSEPH (V.O.)He was fighting people who wanted to stop him. But he never gave up, because he knew he would be okay.CAROL (V.O.)How did he know?JOSEPH (V.O.)Because he had his lucky scarf.

Walter tries to open fire on the enemy again, only to be shot in the shoulder. Walter falls down on the ground and clutches his wound with the scarf. He then looks over to his right and sees STEVE ROGERS, CAPTAIN AMERICA, leap over the trench, throwing his shield at the enemy.JOSEPH (V.O.)That's when he met Captain America.CAROL (V.O.)The war hero?

JOSEPH (V.O.)The very same.Steve catches his shield and runs over to Walter.

STEVEWe have you covered! Do you need medical attention?Walter nods. Steve blocks more bullets with his shield before lifting Walter and carrying him to safety.EXT. DANVERS' FAMILY SUMMER HOME

JOSEPHCaptain America saved your grandfather that day. All because of this scarf.Joseph hands her the scarf. Carol reaches out but hesitates.

JOSEPHGo on. Take it.Carol grabs the scarf and wraps it around her neck.

JOSEPHHe gave it to me when I was about your age. I figured it was time to pass it on to you.CAROLThanks, daddy.

Joseph and Carol embrace again.CAROLI think I'm ready to go on my own adventure.

Joseph and Carol hold hands as they walk towards the house.EXT. DESERT CANYON - DAYTwenty years later, Major Carol Danvers is flying a fighter jet. Her wingmen are SALIA PETRIE and MICHAEL ROSSI. Carol and Michael are hovering, watching Salia.Salia is in the middle of a canyon run, moving through obstacles and blasting combat drones with missiles. She flies through the end of the run, missing the last drone. Groaning, she flies back to the starting position.

CAROLWhat's wrong, Sal? Switch off your targeting computer?SALIAHardy har har. Nerd. You know that last section has targets at three different angles. It's not simple to blast 'em all without screwing the clock.CAROLSo, let's see . . . . Mike was slower but managed to hit every target. Salia was faster but missed one.MICHAELSounds like classic Sal to me.

Salia folds her arms.SALIAWell, it's easy to shoot every damn drone when you take longer than your average pregnancy.CAROLPipe down, kids. Time for good old Cheeseburger to show you how it's done.

Carol smirks and smacks her hand down on a Cylon bobblehead that she has in the cockpit. Her scarf is visibly wrapped around her waist as a sash.MICHAELDrones in position on the course. On the count of three . . . .SALIAThree!

Carol boosts forward into the canyon, blasting each target as she rockets down the course at record speed. When she reaches the end of the course, with the three targets, she fires a missile at an overhead rock arch.SALIAWhat's she doing?

Barrel rolling through the falling rocks, which crush the lowest target, she fires two more missiles while spinning, which twist and hit the other two targets. She then turns around, with a large grin.

Salia and Michael have stunned looks on their faces.INT. AIR FORCE BASE: CAROL'S QUARTERS - DAYCarol walks into her room as the Star Trek theme song plays. This is probably a good time for a credits montage. Her room is filled with science-fiction memorabilia and posters, from a laundry list of franchises, including Star Wars, Star Trek, Dune, Alien, Mass Effect, Stargate, Firefly, StarCraft, Halo, Ender's Game, Metroid, Doctor Who, Dead Space, Killzone, Battlestar Galactica and Cowboy Bebop.While wearing a geeky t-shirt, shorts and socks, she picks up and holds her pet dog. The dog is small, brown, furry, and has a collar that reads 'Chewie'. She then starts watching Star Trek on her TV while eating a cheeseburger.EXT. XANDAR - SPACEThe planet Xandar is shown.EXT. XANDAR: NOVA CORPS HEADQUARTERS - NIGHTA stealth Kree craft, almost completely transparent, slowly approaches the Nova Corps Headquarters. Hovering just outside the glass window of the Vault, it uses a green laser to cut out a small hole.Multiple Kree stealth operatives, lead by YON-ROGG, exit the ship and enter the Vault. Blowing their way inside with an explosive device, they find the purple Infinity Gem inside of the orb. Yon-Rogg grabs the orb, setting off an alarm.

YON-ROGGBack to the ship! Now!The Kree operatives flee back to their ship, getting inside it as it narrowly escapes attacks from multiple Nova Corps fighters.INT. KREE STEALTH CRAFT - NIGHTYon-Rogg places the orb within a special device. Activating it, it unveils the Infinity Gem and makes it glow.

YON-ROGGAwaken, my old friend.

EXT. HALA - SPACEThe Kree homeworld of Hala is shown.

NOVA PRIME (V.O.)I don't think you realize how serious this matter is.INT. HALA: KREE COUNCIL CHAMBER - DAYThe KREE HIGH COUNCIL, consisting of twelve members and the KREE EMPEROR, are seated at a long, curved table, speaking to NOVA PRIME, who appears as a large, hologram orb.

NOVA PRIMEThis is the fourth attack in Xandarian space by the Sons of Supremor in the last six months. This is a major impeachment on our treaty, Emperor.KREE EMPERORThe Sons of Supremor are not part of the Empire. They have been branded a terrorist organization.NOVA PRIMEWhat you brand them means little if you're not willing to bring them in. The item that they stole from Nova Command . . . .KREE COUNCILWOMANIs of great importance, but you cannot tell us what it is. Is that correct?NOVA PRIME. . . . Yes.KREE EMPERORWithout more information, we cannot hope to . . . .

The Emperor is interrupted by an explosion that cuts out the hologram. Yon-Rogg and multiple Kree operatives storm the chamber, killing the guards.KREE COUNCILWOMANWhat madness is this?YON-ROGGThe Sons of Supremor are here to supplant this council.

KREE EMPEROROn whose authority?The voice of RONAN THE ACCUSER is heard.

RONAN (O.S.)Mine.Ronan walks into the room, carrying the Universal Weapon. The Infinity Gem is planted in the hammer. The High Council has faces of shock upon seeing him walk into the room.

KREE EMPERORRonan?KREE COUNCILWOMANGrand Accuser? But I . . . . you were dead!RONANNot yet. I was imprisoned within this Infinity Stone. Through sheer force of will, I live again! I, the Grand Accuser of the Kree Empire!KREE EMPERORMadman! You were dismissed! Condemned along with the Supreme Intelligence! This is not your Empire anymore!RONANIt was, and shall be again! I, Ronan the Accuser, so decrees, that I accuse you, Emperor, and this council of treason!

Ronan slams the staff of his hammer against the ground, emitting a large shockwave of purple energy that disintegrates the rest of the council as they scream in terror. The councilwoman who spoke earlier dives away, barely escaping the blast.Yon-Rogg points her out to Ronan, who calmly approaches her as she scrambles and tries to crawl away. Backed into a corner, she looks up at Ronan.

KREE COUNCILWOMANPlease, show mercy! I beg you! Mercy!Ronan tilts his head.

RONANMercy?The Kree soldiers laugh as Ronan lifts his hammer.

RONANThe Kree don't show mercy!Ronan slams his hammer down on her skull, crushing it.INT. SUPREMOR CHAMBER - DAYRonan presses a button on a small podium in a large chamber. Yon-Rogg and a battalion of Kree soldiers watch as the SUPREME INTELLIGENCE, a large, blue-green, squid-like brain in a glass box full of liquid, appears out of the ground. Ronan kneels.

RONANMy master.The rest of the Kree kneel. The Supreme Intelligence opens its eyes.

SUPREME INTELLIGENCEThe Supreme Intelligence lives again.KREE SOLDIERSHail, Supremor! True leader of the Kree Empire!

Ronan looks up at the Intelligence.SUPREME INTELLIGENCEHow long have I been offline?RONANFour years, great Supremor. Those spineless cowards of the High Council betrayed and usurped your rule. They even signed a peace treaty with the Xandarians. But now, you have been avenged.

Dozens of small holographic display screens appear before the Intelligence's eyes.SUPREME INTELLIGENCEAnalyzing data . . . . no major gains in our wars against Xandar or Skrullos have been made in my absence. This is unacceptable.

RONANI agree, master. That is why we formed, to bring you back to power. To assist in this endeavor . . . .Ronan pulls the Infinity Gem out of the Universal Weapon and holds it out.

RONANI offer you this.The Intelligence uses a psionic field to take the Gem and hold it in front of his face.

SUPREME INTELLIGENCEOne of the six Infinity Stones. Forged by the Celestials in time immemorial. This is truly a great acquisition. You have done well, my Accuser.RONANThank you, master.SUPREME INTELLIGENCEPatriots! Loyalists to Supremor! Hear me now! With this Infinity Stone, we shall secure victory against our enemies! For the glory of the Empire!KREE SOLDIERSHail Supremor! Hail Grand Accuser!

INT. AIR FORCE BASE: CONTROL ROOM - DAYCarol, Salia and Michael walk into the control room, with several officers at their stations. Around a hologram table stands PHILLIP LAWSON, KARLA SOFEN and HENRY GYRICH, who walk up to Carol when she enters the room.

PHILLIPMajor Danvers! How did your performance tests go?CAROLWell enough. Phillip Lawson, I'd like you to meet my two candidates for the space defense program: Salia Petrie and Michael Rossi.MICHAELHello.

SALIAYo.PHILLIPPleasure. And Major, we have a guest. Mr. Gyrich from the Department of Defense is here.GYRICHMajor.CAROLSir. I wasn't expecting you so soon.GYRICHI'm here for two reasons, Major. I've come to assess the progress of your program, and to appoint you a new operative.CAROLWe already have all of our pilot ranks filled.GYRICHNot a pilot. May I introduce, Doctor Karla Sofen.

As Carol and Karla shake hands, Karla gives a subtle hint of a devious smile.KARLAMajor. It's a pleasure.CAROLDoctor.GYRICHDoctor Sofen is a highly respected psychologist. She is here to provide therapy for the pilots.

Carol looks behind her to see Salia shaking her hands and head.CAROLWith all due respect, Mr. Gyrich, I'm not sure that's entirely necessary . . . .

KARLAMy role will be to ensure the mental and emotional well-being of the pilots during their missions. As with any military operation, mental health is a critical component, and I'm here to alleviate any stress or concerns they may have.CAROLI'm sure you'll be a valuable asset to our program, doctor. Phillip? Show Mr. Gyrich our latest design specs. I want to speak to my pilots for a moment.

Phillip nods and takes Gyrich over to the hologram table. Karla begins walking around the room, looking at people with a suspicious glare.PHILLIPAs you can see, sir, our Quinjet is top of the line. Outfitted with reinforced plating, machine guns, laser cannons, missile silos, a deflector shield, and an emergency tactical nuclear warhead, all of which can be deployed in ship-to-ship space combat.

Carol, Salia and Michael convene in a corner. Karla walks out of the room.MICHAELDo we really need a brain ranger around here?CAROLObviously not, but it's sorta out of my hands.MICHAELIt just seems so last minute.

Salia eyes Phillip.SALIAWhy haven't you introduced me to your assistant before now?CAROLBecause I knew that if I did, you'd eat him alive.

12.

SALIA(shrugging)Well . . . . yup.Carol nods.

GYRICHMajor Danvers! Your radar's beeping.Carol looks over at one of the display screens. CLAY QUARTERMAIN is sitting in front of it. Carol, Salia, Michael, Gyrich and Phillip walk up to his console.

CAROLWhat is it, Quartermain?QUARTERMAINMajor, I'm getting an unidentified reading. An object from orbit has just descended into the lower atmosphere.CAROLDetails, Quartermain. What kind of object? What's its trajectory?

Phillip looks through the glass window screen in front of them, up into the sky.QUARTERMAINThat's the thing. It's descending too fast to be a meteoroid, and its trajectory is almost completely straight. Projections show it's going to land.... right here.

Carol and everyone else look up to see the object coming towards them.CAROLMove!

Everyone in the room runs away as the object crashes through the window. It is a Kree Sentry, a purple and silver humanoid robot that stands ten meters tall. It lands feet first, and stands upright.One of the officers pulls out a pistol and fires at the robot, but the bullets bounce off its armour. It retaliates by firing a green laser from its optical visor, killing the officer. Phillip stares at it as it walks away, to the exterior of the base.Carol stands up and touches her hand to her earpiece,

channeling her voice through the whole base.CAROLAttention! Attention! This is Major Danvers! We are under attack by an alien robot! It is armed and extremely dangerous! All non-combat personnel follow standard evac procedures. Everyone else, get that damn thing off my base!

EXT. AIR FORCE BASE - DUSKThe Kree Sentry battles groups of soldiers. The Sentry absorbs the impact of multiple streams of bullets, grenades, and even tank shells. The Sentry fires back with its laser, incinerating one of the tanks and causing the soldiers to retreat to cover.As the battle continues, the Sentry's arms turn into spinning laser cannons, and it kills more soldiers. Carol runs out of the base with an assault rifle, followed by Quartermain, some more soldiers, and Phillip. Carol helps a downed soldier to his feet.

CAROLQuartermain! Take these troops and flank the bastard. You find wounded, you get them off the field, you understand?QUARTERMAINYes, ma'am!

Carol opens fire on the Sentry. The battle continues as Phillip runs up to Carol.PHILLIPCarol, you have to stop this!CAROLWhat do I look like I'm doing?PHILLIPNo, I mean you need to stop firing! It only attacks in retaliation!CAROLWhat? How could you know that? Have you lost your goddamn mind, Lawson?

Phillip pushes Carol out of the way and runs up to the sentry.

CAROLLawson! What are you doing?!PHILLIPSentry 459! This is Captain Mar-Vell! Stand down!

The sentry stops firing and slowly turns towards Phillip.CAROLHold your fire! Hold your fire!

The army stops attacking the sentry as it scans Phillip.SENTRYCaptain Mar-Vell.PHILLIPStand down, 459!SENTRYYour order has been rejected.

The sentry turns away, and Phillip pulls out a Kree energy pistol, which glows blue. The sentry turns back to him.CAROLPhillip!

Carol dives for Phillip as the sentry fires. As Carol tries to help Phillip back up, a holographic aura around him begins to dissipate, revealing his true form of Kree CAPTAIN MAR-VELL.CAROLPhillip?

Carol helps Mar-Vell off the ground as the sentry leaves the base, walking into the distance. The survivors of the sentry's attack recover themselves.CAROLYou've got a lot of explaining to do.MAR-VELLBelieve me, I know.

15.

INT. AIR FORCE BASE: MEDICAL BAY - LATERCarol, Salia, Michael, Quartermain, Gyrich, Karla, and several soldiers and doctors stand in the medical bay, all looking at Mar-Vell.

MAR-VELLMy name is Captain Mar-Vell. I am a fleet captain of the Kree Navy.SALIASo, an alien.MAR-VELLYes. The Kree Empire is one of the oldest civilizations in the galaxy. I was sent here a year ago by the High Council, to be both a scout and eventual emissary to your people. What you were fighting was a Kree Sentry.SALIASo, alien communists?CAROLWhy Earth?MAR-VELLI was sent here because multiple galactic super powers have been drawn to your planet since you were invaded by the Chitauri.GYRICHYou know about them? What's your connection?MAR-VELLThe Chitauri were once Kree. But they've been augmented with cybernetics. They're bred solely for combat, and are controlled by an intergalactic warlord known as Thanos. But he's not the problem.SALIANot the problem? He sounds like a problem.

Mar-Vell taps a button on his wrist data unit, showing holograms of what he's talking about.

16.

MAR-VELLWe detected activity in nearby star systems of the Skrulls, who my people are at war with.SALIAWait wait wait. So, you're saying that two alien empires are at war, and they're going to fight over Earth? Wonderful.MAR-VELLNot necessarily. My mission was one of peace. At most, the High Council was going to use your planet as a temporary garrison in exchange for resources. We normally don't use Sentries when there's already an agent on a planet. Its refusal of my orders has me very concerned.MICHAELWhy don't we just bomb it?MAR-VELLUnfortunately, it won't work. The sentry is heavily armored against all conventional weaponry, at least at your level of technology. Most galactic superpowers can just shoot them out of the sky. The purpose of the sentry not combat; it's to scout the planets of non-spacefaring species, surveying the native population. In the case of extreme resistance, as you have provided, it will.... stop the resistance.

Mar-Vell sighs and looks down.SALIAThat sounds really, really bad.CAROLIf we keep pounding it with reinforcements, we'll destroy it eventually.MAR-VELLThat's not the point. The sentry is equipped with a NegaBomb, a pulse weapon that eradicates all organic life across the planet. (MORE)

MAR-VELL (CONT'D)Given the display you gave it today, I'd say you have an hour before it deploys the NegaBomb.SALIAThat sounds really, really worse.

Everyone stares at Mar-Vell for a moment before Carol grabs him and shoves him against the wall. She then pulls a pistol out of her holster and points it directly at Mar-Vell's head.MICHAELCarol!CAROLListen here, Captain. You're going to help us stop that bomb from going off, or I'll make sure you stay here to see it.MAR-VELLI was about to offer my help. If the NegaBomb goes off, I die too.CAROLYou better not be lying to me again, Captain.MAR-VELLLook, I'm sorry for having deceived you. I had no other choice. I didn't know that this sentry was going to attack. But if you don't let me help you, your entire world is going to be wiped out.

Carol looks intently into Mar-Vell's eyes before letting him down. Mar-Vell massages his throat and stands up. Carol aims her pistol at him.CAROLYou get one chance, Mar-Vell. Make it count.MAR-VELLYes, Major.MICHAELSo we're leaving the fate of the planet in the hands of an alien spy?

18.

CAROLWe've gotten out of worse.EXT. MOUNTAIN FOREST - NIGHTCarol is driving a military jeep, with Mar-Vell in the passenger seat. Salia and Michael are in the back. Several other jeeps filled with soldiers follow behind them. Mar-Vell is looking at the built in radar screen in the dashboard, which is pinpointing the location of the sentry.

MAR-VELLYou shouldn't have brought these men, Major. You're endangering their lives. It should just have been you and me.CAROLHere's the way I see it, Captain. You've been working on my base for months and never once decided to reveal to me that you just so happen to be an alien. Now that one of your robots is attacking my planet, you want me to just trust you? No. That's not the way it works. Also, last I checked, this sentry wasn't following your orders, so I'm not counting on you being able to stop it. So, I'm bringing backup whether you like it or not, got it?MAR-VELLI understand.

Carol continues to drive until they come to a cliff side. Mar-Vell points forward into the nearby forest.MAR-VELLBehind those trees.

Carol, Mar-Vell, Salia and Michael get out of the jeep.CAROLMar-Vell and I are gonna approach. The rest of you, set up a perimeter around us. Get ready to open fire on my signal.SOLDIERYes, ma'am.

Salia, Michael, and the soldiers get out of their jeeps and take up firing positions around the motionless sentry. Mar-Vell and Carol walk up to it, and Carol aims her rifle at

it.MAR-VELLPlease, Carol, let me speak to it.

Carol hesitates, and then nods. She lowers her weapon.MAR-VELLThank you.

Mar-Vell then looks back at the sentry.MAR-VELLSentry 459! This is Captain Mar-Vell.

The sentry turns to face Mar-Vell.SENTRYCaptain Mar-Vell. You are accompanied by armed humans.MAR-VELLThey're not going to attack. They're just scared. What is the status of your NegaBomb?SENTRYNegaBomb preparing for deployment. Charging at sixty-eight percent. NegaBomb is set for detonation in fourteen minutes, nine seconds.MAR-VELLAs Captain of the Kree Navy, I am ordering you to stand down and deactivate the NegaBomb.SENTRYYour order has been rejected.MAR-VELLWho is your commanding officer? Who sent you to Earth?SENTRYThis unit was sent under direct orders from Grand Accuser Ronan.MAR-VELLRonan?CAROLFriend of yours?

MAR-VELLNot exactly. 459, can you open up a communications channel to Ronan?SENTRYOne moment, please.CAROLSo he'll take that order?MAR-VELLIt wasn't technically an order.CAROLWell maybe next time you tell him to turn off his nuke, ask politely.

The Sentry's chest displays a holographic image of Ronan.MAR-VELLGrand Accuser! You're alive?CAROLWas that unexpected?RONANCaptain Mar-Vell. I'm afraid the rumours of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.CAROLDid, did he just quote Mark Twain?MAR-VELLWho?RONANWhat are you doing on this planet?MAR-VELLI was sent on an emissary mission by the High Council.RONANThe Council's authority has been revoked. Carol looks at Mar-Vell. Mar-Vell sighs and looks down before turning to Carol. They stare at each other for a few moments.SENTRYCaptain Mar-Vell. The NegaBomb is almost finished charging. Please step forward so we can shield you from the explosion.

Mar-Vell closes his eyes for a moment before quickly turning and pulling out his pistol. He fires a blue energy blast at the sentry, causing electricity to arc around it.

CAROLAll units! Open fire!The sentry, stunned by the electricity blast, reels back under all of the soldiers opening fire. Mar-Vell continues to blast the sentry with the blue energy from his pistol.

MAR-VELLCarol! It's only stunned! Cover me!Mar-Vell runs forward as Carol and the other units continue to fire. The sentry begins to recover and wildly fires its eye beam upwards, destroying a few trees. Mar-Vell closes in on the sentry and presses a button on his pistol, transforming it into a small, blue energy blade.Using the blade, he slashes at the sentry's legs, causing it to collapse on one knee. He then slashes at the orb on the sentry's chest, tearing it open.

SENTRYWarning. Armor breach detected.The sentry reaches out and backhands Mar-Vell, knocking him to the floor.

CAROLNo!Carol runs forward, unloading a full clip into the hole Mar-Vell cut into the chest.

CAROLAll units! Deploy heavy munition into that chest cavity!Carol pulls Mar-Vell back from the sentry as it stands up. One soldier fires an RPG missile at the chest cavity. Mar-Vell stirs and Carol helps him up. Another RPG missile hits the sentry in the head, knocking it back.

CAROLYou alive?MAR-VELLLet's finish this.

Mar-Vell grabs his energy blade off the ground and charges the sentry. Mar-Vell then slashes directly at wires inside of the sentry, causing it to fall down.CAROLHold fire!

The soldiers stop shooting as the sentry falls. Carol runs

forward and stands beside Mar-Vell, who then then pulls some metal out of the way to reveal the NegaBomb. It is a massive, flashing white orb.MAR-VELLThe NegaBomb isn't fully charged. I need to disarm it!CAROLCan you do it in time?MAR-VELLNo. But I'm going to try anyway.

Mar-Vell begins to work on disarming the NegaBomb while the soldiers close in. As the circle of soldiers close, the sentry's eyes reactivate.SENTRYInterior compromised. Initiating premature detonation sequence.MAR-VELLMove!

The soldiers all dive away from the sentry. Mar-Vell leaps at Carol and pins her to the ground, shielding her as the sentry explodes. The blast ignites a green energy field around Mar-Vell, and a yellow one around Carol. Carol's eyes open and she screams in pain before passing out.INT. AIR FORCE BASE: MEDICAL BAY - DAYCarol slowly wakes up, being strapped to a medical bed. A DOCTOR and a NURSE are performing duties around her bed.

NURSEDoctor, she's waking up. Her heart rate is climbing.Carol opens her eyes and stares upwards as the nurse walks into her field of vision.

NURSEMajor Danvers? Can you hear me?CAROLYeah. My head aches like a bitch, but I can hear you.

Carol tries to move and notices the straps.

CAROLNurse? Any particular reason I'm strapped down?DOCTORWe were taking all necessary precautions to ensure your condition was stable. When you were caught in the explosion, your body absorbed some unknown energy. You were experiencing involuntary contractions while you were being transported back to base.CAROLThe soldiers.... were any caught in the blast?DOCTORNo. You and Captain Mar-Vell were the only ones in the blast radius. Everyone else got back with only minor injuries.CAROLGood. And Mar-Vell? Is he alright?DOCTORHe's fine. He's been waiting for you to wake up.CAROLHow long was I out?DOCTORAbout fifteen hours.

Carol tries to move.CAROLWell, since I'm awake, can I get out of these now?DOCTORI wouldn't recommend it, Major. Given that we still don't know what kind of energy your body absorbed, I want to make sure you're kept in a perfectly stable condition before....

The doctor is interrupted when Carol's body is enveloped in a yellow aura and she rips the entire bed apart by pulling at her straps. The force of her breaking free then sends her flying into the ceiling, tearing a hole through the concrete.

CAROLUgh!She then lands back on the floor. People on the upper floor look down in disbelief. Carol smiles and waves awkwardly.

DOCTORMajor?Carol stands up and looks around at her hands as the yellow aura glows around her body.

NURSEThat's not supposed to happen....The nurse points at the ground and the doctor leaps back in surprise.

CAROLWhat?Carol then looks at the ground to see that she is flying a quarter of a meter above the ground.

CAROLAh! Whoa!Carol begins to wave her arms as she accidentally performs an aerial somersault. After a few moments she appears to gain control and stabilizes her flight so that she is upright. She then lands on the ground.

CAROLDoctor.... what kind of energy did you say I absorbed from the blast?The doctor stares at Carol with wide eyes.

DOCTORUnknown, ma'am.Carol then attempts to leave the medical bay.

DOCTORMajor! I must request that you stay. We need to study you to see if there are any ill side effects of the....Carol turns to look at the doctor while attempting to open the door.

CAROLI need to speak to....Carol's hand then fires a yellow energy blast that

completely destroys the medical bay door. Carol looks at her hand, stunned. The nurse faints. Mar-Vell runs into the room and looks at her, in shock.INT. AIR FORCE BASE: EMERGENCY MEDICAL BAY - LATERCarol is sitting on a new bed with the doctor and the nurse working around her. Mar-Vell is sitting on a chair next to Carol's bed.

CAROLYou protected me.MAR-VELLYes. When I was defusing the NegaBomb, the sentry's systems reactivated and it triggered a self-destruct sequence. Since the NegaBomb wasn't fully charged, it had no other choice.CAROLSo you don't know what happened to me?MAR-VELLI can only guess. The energy must have interacted with my physiology and transferred some latent energy to you. Honestly, I have no idea how it happened, or how it's going to affect you.CAROLYou did good, Mar-Vell. When that Ronan guy offered you a way out, I seriously thought you were going to abandon us.... but you pulled through when it counted.MAR-VELLThanks.CAROLBut I've got to ask.... why did you help us?

Mar-Vell looks at Carol, and takes a moment before taking her hand in his. He then places his other hand on top of hers, clasping it.MAR-VELLI had my reasons.

Vell lets Carol's hand go.WOOMajor Danvers? Mr. Gyrich needs to see you. It's urgent. An agent has clothes ready for you. You come along as well, Captain.

Carol and Mar-Vell looks at each other and then get up.INT. AIR FORCE BASE: MEETING ROOM - DAYWoo leads Carol and Mar-Vell into a meeting room. Construction workers are seen repairing the damages to the base. In the room are Salia, Michael, Gyrich and Karla are waiting.

SALIACarol!Salia jumps up and hugs Carol.

SALIAWhen you were having those spasms on the way back, oh my gosh, I thought you were gonna die!Carol winces as Salia squeezes her.

CAROLReally, Sal, I'm still breathing. For now.Salia lets go.

SALIASorry.MICHAELGood to have you back. And Mar-Vell!

Mar-Vell looks at Michael.MICHAELThanks. For saving her.

Woo opens up a display screen on the table that shows graphs, statistics and diagrams.WOORight. Major, I've been looking at your body since the....

Salia laughs. Carol rolls her eyes.WOOEr, I mean, I've been studying your physiology while you were in the medical bay. I've got some readings you really need to see.

Carol looks at the screen.CAROLI'm sorry, Jimmy, I don't know what I'm looking at.WOOIt's your DNA structure. It's changed.

Mar-Vell walks forward and looks at the screen.MAR-VELLWait a minute. I've seen these DNA strands. They're Kree.WOOThat's what my theory was. Your entire biology has changed.... you're half-human and half-Kree.

Carol takes a step back, and looks at her hands.CAROLWhat? B-but.... I, I look exactly the same.

WOOIt hasn't affected outside appearance, but your cell structure and internal organs have been radically altered. The energy from that explosion somehow passed through Captain Mar-Vell's body, and then, it somehow jump-started an evolutionary metamorphosis in you.SALIAThat is messed up!WOOThere's more. When you were comatose in your room, we noticed that the electrical charge in some of the equipment was lowering.CAROLLowering?WOOYes. It must have been subconscious, but your body was absorbing the electricity from the devices and using it to amplify the energy in your cells. Your body must have needed the extra energy to power this intense rewriting of your genetic code. To put it simply, you can absorb energy to heighten your power level, and as you can see by what remains of the medical bay door, you can discharge energy in the form of yellow beams.

Carol looks down at her hands again.CAROLIncredible.WOOHere, I want to test my theory. Fire a beam at the wall.

Woo points at the wall, and Carol sticks out her arm. She fires a yellow beam, searing the concrete.WOOGood. Now....

Woo takes a small battery with a glowing blue light out of his pocket and places it on a nearby table.

WOOI want you to absorb the energy in this battery, and then fire another beam.CAROLAlright.

Carol looks directly at the battery and reaches out her hand. She wraps her hands around the battery and absorbs all the energy out of it.WOODischarge.

Carol then fires a yellow energy beam from her hands, which completely obliterates the battery and the table. Salia, Michael and Karla clap.WOOAmazing.CAROLI can do this with any kind of energy?WOOFar as I can tell. I've already started to design a training regimen to test and develop the limits of your powers, but from what I've seen, you've become a marvel of science.

INT. AIR FORCE BASE: CAROL'S QUARTERS - DAYCarol and Salia are working on designing the costume on paper. Carol is eating a cheeseburger and scratching Chewie's head.

SALIAWe gotta have, uh, some sorta symbol, like, like an icon or somethin' on the front. Ooh, ooh, ooh, like a star or, like, a thunderbolt. Something like that. And more black!CAROLDoes it all have to be black?SALIAYes. Black is in. Black is always in.CAROLHow about a domino mask?SALIADomino mask? Why? EXT. AIR FORCE BASE - DAYCarol, now in her finished Ms. Marvel outfit, is flying outside the base. There are several quick shots of her destroying tanks with her fists, blasting targets at long range, being shot at by bullets that have no effect, flying at high speeds, lifting a helicopter, and using the ripped off top of a tank as a golf club against the rest of it.The last shot of the quick montage has her flying and landing on the ground in a three point pose.INT. DR. KARLA SOFEN'S OFFICE - DAYSalia is sitting with Karla in her office.

KARLAI understand you and Major Danvers are quite close.SALIAYeah. Mar-Vell looks directly at Una.MAR-VELLNow it's not so bad.

Una smiles and sits on the bed next to Mar-Vell.MAR-VELL (V.O.)She was a beautiful and maternal woman.... someone you could grow to depend on. She cared for all her patients, but for me, it was more than just physical. Karla's eyes light up as she stares at the moonstone.MAR-VELLHowever, because of the potential danger they could cause in the wrong hands, their use was outlawed a long time ago. People who have them usually keep them for sentimental reasons.KARLAIt's a shame that such power has been.... sealed away.

You can fly, you're indestructible and you can shoot laser beams from your hands. You even have a costume.CAROLYeah, but I'd say being a superhero is more than that. I mean, look at the Avengers. Those people pulled together when the planet needed them and they saved the world. I can only hope to live up to their example.KARLAIntriguing.

Karla looks intently at Carol for a moment before looking at her waist.KARLAI've noticed that you wear a scarf around your waist as a sort of sash. I can't think of any possible practical use for it. Is there a reason you wear that?CAROLMy scarf? Well.... it's a memento from my father. His father wore it in World War II. He said it was his lucky scarf. I guess it's a sentimental thing.KARLASentiment does bring comfort in times of need or distress. Are you worried about what might happen now that you have these powers?

Mar-Vell pauses for a moment before looking at Carol. He has a sad look on his face.

MAR-VELLThey didn't. The Supreme Intelligence wasn't in power when I came here. I have no idea what's going on. When Supremor was in charge, it always sent an emissary to study the most powerful native species of a planet, in case they might be of some use to the Empire.CAROLUse? As what, slaves?

Mar-Vell sighs and places his face in his hands.MAR-VELLThese things.... are difficult to explain in terms you'll understand. The Kree Empire is in control of over a thousand solar systems. We have dozens of races that live under our protection and tutelage. They all serve some sort of function within the Empire. At first, my mission as emissary was merely observation and integration. But, over time, I noticed something different in humanity.CAROLWhat?MAR-VELLA spirit. An indomitable will, no matter the odds. I've seen news videos of your heroes. Despite being overwhelmed by more powerful forces, they never back down. They fight, even when victory should be impossible. Even in less extreme examples, I see this will within your kind every day.... and I have this urge to preserve it. Even though he will, I don't want Ronan to come.... because I know what will happen. Humanity won't accept his terms, and conflict will be inevitable. People might get hurt.

Mar-Vell looks at Carol.

EXT. OUTER SPACE: KREE FLAGSHIP - SPACEThe Kree flagship enters Earth's orbit.INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: BRIDGE - SPACEOn board the ship is Ronan, who is staring through the window at Earth. Yon-Rogg walks up to him.

YON-ROGGGrand Accuser!RONANReport.YON-ROGGWe've just entered Earth's orbit. However, our preliminary scans show that organic life is abundant on the planet. The NegaBomb could not have gone off.RONANIs it possible that life on this planet is immune to the NegaBomb?YON-ROGGExtremely unlikely. We've never encountered anything that could survive the NegaBomb. Also, we've been unable to locate Sentry 459's energy signature. It should be in nearby orbital range with Captain Mar-Vell waiting inside.

Ronan sneers.RONANMar-Vell. He always was a bleeding heart.

YON-ROGGWhat do you mean, sir?RONANCan't you piece it together?! Mar-Vell made a plea for the preservation of life on this miserable planet minutes before the NegaBomb was to detonate. He must have destroyed the sentry!YON-ROGGBut he had a way to escape. Why would he care about life on that rock?RONANThat is what I'm going to find out.

Ronan turns and walks down the bridge.RONANPrepare a landing party. We're going down there. We're going to find Mar-Vell, and we're going to ask him why he defied the will of the Supreme Intelligence. And we're going to ask him.... forcefully.

Yon-Rogg grins.YON-ROGGYes sir.

Yon-Rogg then speaks over the intercom in the ship.YON-ROGGAttention! All staff, this is Captain Yon-Rogg. As per orders from the Grand Accuser, we are going to land on the planet. I want a landing shuttle prepared with a combat contingent, and I want it now! I will be joining them, so Commander Sar-Torr will be in charge of the ship in my stead.

Ronan takes another look at Earth out the window and then walks off the bridge, followed by Yon-Rogg.

INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: SHUTTLE BAY - SPACERonan walks towards the shuttle, which opens for the landing party. The landing party, which is following Ronan, consists of Yon-Rogg and twelve Kree soldiers, all fully armed with laser rifles. Once they're all aboard, the shuttle door closes behind them and the shuttle leaves the ship.INT. DR. KARLA SOFEN'S OFFICE: OUTSIDE OF OFFICE - DAYMar-Vell and Carol are still sitting next to each other in the same seats as their previous conversation. Both are silent. Then, the emergency alarm sounds. Carol and Mar-Vell stand up.

CAROLAgain?MAR-VELLHe's here.

EXT. AIR FORCE BASE - DAYCarol, Mar-Vell, Salia, Michael, Quartermain and other soldiers exit the base. The Kree shuttle lands in front of everyone. Only Carol and Mar-Vell are unarmed. The soldiers aim their weapons at the shuttle.

MAR-VELLCall them off.CAROLEveryone! Hold fire!

The shuttle door opens, and Ronan exits the ship, followed by Yon-Rogg and the Kree soldiers. The Kree soldiers form up behind Ronan, with Yon-Rogg at his side.MAR-VELLLet me speak to them.

Mar-Vell turns around and motions for Carol to join him.

Carol steps forward. Ronan looks directly at her.RONANWho are you?CAROLMy name is Carol Danvers, but you can call me Ms. Marvel.RONANMs. Marvel?

Ronan laughs. Carol glares at him.RONANYou are the best this planet has to offer? Why should I care about you?!CAROLBecause I'm not gonna allow you to wipe out my species.RONANWhat you do and do not allow is of no concern to me! Now stand aside!

Ronan takes a step forward. Carol doesn't move.CAROLNo.MAR-VELLCarol....

Carol doesn't move.RONANYou wish to die human?! So be it!

Ronan swings his hammer down on Carol, who calmly catches it with one hand. Ronan stands stunned for a moment, in complete surprise at Carol's strength. Carol takes advantage of this and starts to wind up a punch.MAR-VELLCarol, no!

Carol ignores Mar-Vell, using her other hand to punch Ronan right in the jaw, sending him reeling backwards. Yon-Rogg gasps, and the Kree soldiers stare in disbelief. After a moment, Ronan recovers.

CAROLGo home.RONANAttack!!!!CAROLFire at will!MAR-VELLNo!

Both sides open fire with their rifles. Most of the Kree soldiers focus on Carol, who absorbs their shots as a yellow energy aura forms around her.YON-ROGGThat energy signature! It's Kree! How?

Ronan lunges at Carol, who dodges his hammer swipe. Yon-Rogg takes the opportunity to shoot Mar-Vell in the leg. He then walks up to Mar-Vell and kicks him.YON-ROGGAfter this is over, you're mine, Mar-Vell.

Carol fires two laser blasts at Ronan, who blocks them with his hammer. Carol then takes a moment to charge a third before blasting, but still Ronan blocks the blast.QUARTERMAINEveryone! Move back!

Quartermain motions for the soldiers to get back behind cover as the Kree soldiers press forward. One of the soldiers tries to shoot Ronan. After he knocks Carol away with hammer swing, he fires a force blast at the soldier, snapping his neck and killing him.QUARTERMAINTruman!

Carol roars and flies forward, kicking Ronan in the chest.

SALIAAgh!MICHAELSal! You okay?!

Salia quickly recovers, pulls out her pistol shoots Yon-Rogg in the shoulder. He falls to the ground and screams in pain, crawling backwards.

SALIAI'll live.A Kree soldier runs to Yon-Rogg.

KREE SOLDIER #1Captain!YON-ROGGGet me in the shuttle! And take Mar-Vell! That traitor will be dealt with when we're back in orbit.KREE SOLDIER #1Yes, sir. You two! You heard the Captain!

Two Kree soldiers pick up Mar-Vell and carry him to the shuttle, while the Kree soldier that spoke carries Yon-Rogg. The remaining soldiers provide covering fire.Carol and Ronan continue to fight, with Ronan punching Carol in the gut and then smashing her in the head with the staff of his hammer.

RONANSurrender!Ronan swings his hammer down again and Carol catches it.

CAROLNever.Carol then swings her arms backwards, heaving Ronan over her head. As Ronan crashes into the ground, Carol sees Mar-Vell being taken away.

CAROLLeave him alone!Carol leaps forward and attacks the Kree soldiers guarding Mar-Vell.

RONANYon-Rogg! Aim your weapon at Mar-Vell's head!Yon-Rogg places his gun at the back of Mar-Vell's head.

YON-ROGGAnother move, and he dies!Carol clenches her teeth in anger. Ronan walks towards Yon-Rogg.

RONANDid you see the way she dived to help him? She cares for him. Now, Ms. Marvel.... if you wish for Mar-Vell to live, you'll come with us. We're going to pass judgement on you and your species to the Supreme Intelligence.Michael and Salia both look up and run forward.

MICHAELCarol, don't!SALIAThey're gonna kill you!

Ronan looks over at Michael and Salia. He then blasts them both with his hammer laser. They collapse, but are still alive. Salia is knocked out. Michael is still conscious.CAROLNo!RONANTake those two as well.

Two Kree soldiers go out and grab Michael and Salia.MICHAELLet go of me!RONANNow.... Ms. Marvel. Step onto the shuttle.

Carol's fists glow with a yellow aura.RONANNow!

Carol stares at Ronan. After a moment, the yellow aura around her fists dissipates. Yon-Rogg keeps his pistol focused on Mar-Vell.YON-ROGGNo cleverness.

The soldiers keep their weapons trained on the Kree.SOLDIERMajor Danvers! Orders?

Carol looks over at the soldiers and sighs. She then holds out her arm and gently lowers her hand. The soldiers lower their weapons. Yon-Rogg smiles. The Kree then lead Carol and

the prisoners onto the ship.INT. KREE SHUTTLE - DAYThe shuttle door closes. The Kree soldiers sit down, with the ones holding the prisoners following suit. One of the soldiers hits Carol in the ribs with his rifle.

KREE SOLDIER #2Sit down.RONANRestrain them!

The Kree soldiers place energy band handcuffs around the hands of all four prisoners. Carol looks down at her hands and subtly smiles.RONANCaptain. Do not let your pistol away from Mar-Vell's head, even for a moment. If she sees an opportunity to free him, she'll take it.YON-ROGGUnderstood.

Ronan then points at the two closest Kree soldiers.RONANYou two, do the same! With all three of her friends threatened, I doubt she'll attempt any.... heroics.

Carol sits back and sneers. She watches as all three of her friends are placed on the opposite side of the shuttle, each with a gun to their head.MICHAELDo you have to be so pushy about it?

The Kree Soldier hits Michael on the head with his pistol.

MAR-VELLCarol?CAROLMar-Vell! You okay?

Mar-Vell looks to his left, and sees the gun to his head.

MAR-VELLI've been better.Yon-Rogg chops Mar-Vell in the throat with his free hand.

YON-ROGGShut up!MAR-VELLYon-Rogg. I see you're as unpleasant as ever.YON-ROGGI'm going to kill you.MAR-VELLI also see that you're still Ronan's lapdog. How does it feel to be both a Captain and a lackey at the same time?

Yon-Rogg chops Mar-Vell in the throat again.CAROLPersonal history?MAR-VELLYou could say that.CAROLSo you're a Captain too, eh, Yon-Rogg?YON-ROGGYes.CAROLDo you know what's going to happen to you when I get out of this?

Yon-Rogg scoffs.YON-ROGGWhat?CAROLI'm going to gut you like the putrid little fish that you are.

Yon-Rogg furrows his brow. Carol does the same. As this happens, Salia starts to stir.SALIAErgh....

Carol looks over at Salia.

CAROLSal?The Kree soldier holding Salia tightens his grip on her. Salia winces in pain.

SALIACarol....Salia opens her eyes.

SALIACarol.... where are we?Salia then notices that she is being held by a Kree soldier.

SALIAOh.MICHAELYou alright?SALIAOh yeah. You know, aside from the alien revolver pressed against my temple.... yeah, I'm peachy.CAROLI promise you, Sal, we're gonna get outta this.SALIAYeah.... just be sure to lemme know when you've figured out how you're gonna do that, okay?

EXT. OUTER SPACE: KREE SHUTTLE - SPACEThe Kree shuttle is seen flying towards the Kree flagship.INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: SHUTTLE BAY - SPACERonan, Yon-Rogg, the prisoners and the other Kree soldiers exit the shuttle to meet commander SAR-TORR. On the intercom, a FEMALE KREE's voice is heard.

FEMALE KREE (O.S.)Attention! Attention! Captain Yon-Rogg has returned. Commander Sar-Torr stands relieved. Please continue with all standard protocols.

RONANSar-Torr.SAR-TORRGrand Accuser! Welcome back. I trust your mission was a success?RONANThere were.... complications. We are in possession of four prisoners from the planet. We're bringing them to be judged by the Supreme Intelligence. Prepare cells for them in the detention wing.SAR-TORRRight away.

Sar-Torr starts to turn before noticing Mar-Vell.SAR-TORRWait. That's Captain Mar-Vell! Why is he being held?RONANHe is our prisoner as well.SAR-TORRWhy?RONANHe has openly defied orders from his superiors. The Supreme Intelligence will decide his fate. As for you, Sar-Torr.... that is all you need to know.

Sar-Torr gulps.SAR-TORRYes, sir.

Sar-Torr motions for the Kree soldiers holding the prisoners to follow him. Ronan turns to the right and leaves through a different door.INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: HALLWAY - SPACESar-Torr and the people following him walk through a long hallway. Yon-Rogg passes Mar-Vell to two Kree soldiers.

YON-ROGGHold him. I need to speak to the commander.KREE SOLDIER #3Yes sir.

Yon-Rogg walks up to Sar-Torr.YON-ROGGI trust everything went well while I was gone.SAR-TORRYou weren't gone very long.YON-ROGGYou know Ronan. If anything is even slightly askew, he gets upset.SAR-TORRWell the ship ran without any issues. I'm more concerned about Mar-Vell's incarceration. What happened down there?YON-ROGGMar-Vell stopped the NegaBomb from going off. He betrayed us.SAR-TORRDid he give a reason?YON-ROGGHe wanted to make an appeal to Supremor for the survival of the planet's life.SAR-TORRSo? That's his right.YON-ROGGNot if a sentry had already been designated to format the planet!

Sar-Torr looks at Yon-Rogg, visibly intimidated.SAR-TORRWell.... those decisions are above me, I suppose.

Salia looks at Michael.

SALIA(whispering)Looks like not everyone here agrees with this.MICHAELYeah.

Sar-Torr and Yon-Rogg reach the entrance to the detention wing.YON-ROGGAlright, listen up! This one is Ms. Marvel. She has some unidentified powers that appear to be generated by a Kree energy signature. We're not sure how these powers work at the moment, so we must take absolute precaution. She is incredibly powerful, given that she was able to battle Ronan head on and survive.SAR-TORRShe what?YON-ROGGYou heard me. She's dangerous. The only reason she's staying amicable is because we also have her friends. So, we're going to use the explosive collars.MAR-VELLOh, joy.YON-ROGGI might just blow your head off for the hell of it, Mar-Vell, if you don't keep your mouth shut.MAR-VELLGo ahead.YON-ROGGIs that what you said to her? When you sent her to die?!MAR-VELLIt wasn't like that.YON-ROGGYou could have saved her!

Yon-Rogg punches Mar-Vell across the face.

CAROLCoward.Yon-Rogg pulls out his pistol and aims it at Carol's face. Salia gasps.

YON-ROGGWhat did you say?CAROLI called you a coward.YON-ROGGDo not test me, woman. One more word and I'll....CAROLWhat? Shoot me? You saw what I can do. Your little ray gun won't do anything to me.

Yon-Rogg takes a step forward and places the end of the pistol right on Carol's forehead. Carol then calmly breaks her hands out of the cuffs, eliciting gasps from the Kree soldiers.CAROLTell me, Yon-Rogg.... how long after you fire that thing do you think I'll crush your head between my fists? Hmm? You think you'll finish hearing the sound of your gunshot before you die?

Yon-Rogg stares intently at Carol. For a few seconds, everyone is still. Then, Yon-Rogg yells and fires the pistol at the ceiling.CAROLThought so.YON-ROGGPlace the collars on them!SALIAThis can't be good.

The Kree soldiers reach into a chest next to the detention wing door and pull out four collars. They then lock them around the necks of the prisoners and release their cuffs.

SALIAOh yeah, make it hard to breathe, too. You know, because it was four star service before this.MICHAELSal!YON-ROGGThese collars explode at the touch of a button. We'll be monitoring your cells. If any of you try anything, we'll detonate one of them at random. Sure, it might not kill you, Ms. Marvel, but do you think your friends will finish hearing the sound of the explosion before they die?

Ms. Marvel furrows her brow.YON-ROGGThought so.

Yon-Rogg then turns to Sar-Torr.YON-ROGGCommander. Place the prisoners in their cells. Then report to the bridge.SAR-TORRYes, Captain.

Yon-Rogg turns and walks down a hallway to the left. Sar-Torr presses a number combination into a keypad next to the detention wing door, which then opens.SAR-TORRGet them inside.

INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: DETENTION WING - SPACEThe Kree soldiers move the prisoners into the detention wing, with Sar-Torr bringing up the rear. The detention wing is made up of a single corridor, with several glass cells on each side.Each cell contains a bench and a toilet, which is barely recognizable as such and seems to be facing the wall. Michael looks at the toilet and frowns.

MICHAELWhat the hell is that supposed to be?SAR-TORROne prisoner per cell. Left side.

The Kree soldiers nod and move the prisoners into the left cells. Moving away from the door, the cell order is Carol, Mar-Vell, Salia and then Michael. After placing them in their cells, the Kree soldiers file out.Sar-Torr stays still, and shuts off the lights. Mar-Vell sits down in his cell, his back to the wall. Sar-Torr and Mar-Vell look at each other.

SAR-TORRI'm sorry, Mar-Vell.Sar-Torr then walks out the door and presses a button on the panel on the other side, shutting it behind him.

SALIAI hate alien communists.INT. AIR FORCE BASE: MEETING ROOM - DAYGyrich, Quartermain, Woo, Karla and other soldiers are all standing in the meeting room.

GYRICHRemind me again what the hell happened?Quartermain coughs.

GYRICHSomebody!QUARTERMAINUm.... Major Danvers.... Captain Mar-Vell.... and Sergeants Petrie and Rossi were all, er.... well.... kidnapped, by the Kree, sir.GYRICHKidnapped?! By aliens?! Well, that's just fantastic. I leave this base for a few freaking days and I come back to find out that the most important personnel have been abducted.... by aliens!

WOOMr. Gyrich.... if I may....GYRICHYou may not! But go ahead Woo, tell me what you're thinking.WOOWe did have to deal with an unexpected attack from a superior force....GYRICHUnexpected? What do you mean, unexpected? A Kree sentry arrives to eradicate all life on Earth, and Captain Mar-Vell stops it. Did you think the Kree were just going to forget about us?WOOWell I didn't think....GYRICHWell, thank you for being honest, at least.

Woo looks down in shame.WOOSorry, sir.

Gyrich shakes his head and places his palm on his face.GYRICHUnbelievable.

Woo and Quartermain look at each other, each looking defeated. Gyrich paces, and then looks at another nearby officer, who happens to be STAN LEE.GYRICHStan, what is going on here?

Stan shrugs and then leaves. Gyrich shakes his head again and looks at Quartermain.GYRICHWhat casualties do we have aside from the kidnapped personnel?QUARTERMAINTwo dead soldiers during the firefight.

GYRICHWhat about the Quinjet prototype?QUARTERMAINIt's safe.GYRICHGood. Was the reconstruction affected at all?QUARTERMAINNo. The Kree didn't do any physical damage to the base. Reconstruction is continuing as scheduled.

Gyrich looks down. He paces for a few more moments before stopping, but he still doesn't speak.WOOSir? What should we do?GYRICHFor now.... we wait.WOOWait?GYRICHWe wait.... and hope Carol figures out a way to get back.

INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: DETENTION WING - SPACEThe detention wing is darkened. Carol is sitting on the bench in her cell, while Mar-Vell hasn't moved since the previous scene. Salia is laying on her bench, while Michael is standing against the corner wall at the back of his cell.

FEMALE KREE (O.S.)Attention! Attention! All laboratory personnel. Hazardous waste materials are being moved in the lower sub-decks. Personnel assigned to areas four and five must be wearing hazard suits. Please follow safety protocol six point five.CAROLI can't believe this. All those years, watching and reading so many stories about exploring space, dreaming of the day I could go do it myself.... and my first (MORE)

CAROL (CONT'D)time, I'm an alien prisoner. I would kill for a TARDIS right now.MICHAELI would kill for a toilet that looked like something I could actually use.SALIAI would kill for a ham sandwich.

Everyone is silent.SALIASo.... does anyone have a super brilliant escape plan?MAR-VELLIt's no use. They've got us monitored. I know, I've worked security before. Any of us try anything and they'll trigger our collars. With Yon-Rogg involved, he'll make sure we don't get out.

Salia starts to say something before stopping.CAROLWhat happened between you two, anyway? He was just salivating at the chance to kill you.

Mar-Vell sighs.MAR-VELLI used to be the Captain of this ship. Yon-Rogg was the Commander who served under me. Before your planet's discovery, this ship, the Helion, was one of the flagships of the fleet.

EXT. KREE PLANET - DAYSkrull and Kree ground forces are battling on an unidentified world. Thousands of foot soldiers are engaged in combat. After a few moments of intense fighting, the Skrull forces start getting bombarded with aerial strikes from the Kree fleet, led by the Helion.

INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: BRIDGE - DAYMar-Vell is sitting in the Captain's seat on the flagship's bridge. Yon-Rogg runs up to him.

MAR-VELL (V.O.)Because of my position as Captain, thousands of lives in each battle hinged on my decisions.YON-ROGGCaptain! We have enemy ships closing in! Swarmer craft!MAR-VELLDivert the fleet into triangular formation. Have the fighters engage at point blank. I want anti-orbital defenses targeting their support vessels.

EXT. KREE PLANET - DAYThe Kree fleet begins to split, as the Helion takes the forward position and the ships parallel to it fall back, forming the triangular fleet. Kree fighters, which are smaller attack ships, congregate at the sides of the flagships.

MAR-VELL (V.O.)The war.... is a difficult thing to endure. The Skrulls are dangerous adversaries. They can change their apperance at will, making them excellent spies and saboteurs. Even without that power, they are formidable.The Skrull fighters dart forward in a swarm, opening fire on the flagships. The main Skrull ship lurches forward as smaller support ships fire large ionized lasers. The Kree and Skrull fighters engage, with hundreds of lasers and dozens of explosions rocking the air around the fleets.INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: BRIDGE - DAYMar-Vell stands up from his Captain's chair.

MAR-VELLTarget the support ships! Our vessels are no match for their ion cannons!

EXT. KREE PLANET - DAYKree anti-orbital cannons on the ground of the planet fire into the atmosphere, rocking the Skrull fleet.

MAR-VELL (V.O.)No battle was without its sacrifices.... or its horrors.The ion cannons of the Skrull support ships destroy a Kree warship, and it starts to fall out of orbit. The ship crashes into the ground, causing a massive explosion. Heavy fire from the Kree flagships destroy the Skrull flagship. As the ship explodes, more Skrull fighters dart to the front of the fleet.INT. KREE FIGHTER - DAYInside the cockpit of one of the Kree fighters, a Kree pilot, AEL-DAN, presses a button on his dashboard.

AEL-DANThis is Ael-Dan. All fighters, form on me!EXT. KREE PLANET - DAYThe Kree fighters follow Ael-Dan's craft, launching a second wave of attack fire on the support ships. Alongside fire from the anti-orbital cannons, the fighters help destroy several Skrull support ships.As the Skrull fleet begins to collapse, the remaining ships fall back. The Kree ground troops start to cheer.

MAR-VELL (V.O.)We rejoiced our victories, but our losses.... were devastating.EXT. SECOND KREE PLANET - DAYA second battle on another Kree planet is shown. The Kree fleet engages a Skrull fleet, annihilating a Skrull warship. However, heavy laser cannons from a massive Skrull vessel obliterate a Kree warship.

MAR-VELL (V.O.)For there was one unifying force behind the Skrulls.... one terrible voice that echoed across the cosmos, leading them to victory, or death....

INT. SKRULL FLAGSHIP - DAYQUEEN VERANKE is shown on her throne in the flagship.

MAR-VELL (V.O.)Veranke. Queen of the Skrulls.Veranke smiles with an evil grin.EXT. SECOND KREE PLANET - DAYVeranke's flagship, with a dozen ion cannons, rains fire on the Kree ground soldiers. The Kree troops flee as the fleet crumbles under the vessel's attacks.

MAR-VELL (V.O.)A religious zealot and utterly insane dictator, Veranke's mere presence empowered the Skrull's resolve beyond measure. When she came into power of the Skrull Empire, their tactics became more brutal.... their punishments.... more severe....INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: MEDICAL BAY - DAYMar-Vell is walks into the medical bay, where he sees Una packing a suitcase with medical supplies. He walks up to her as she places a kit in the suitcase.

MAR-VELL (V.O.)At the time, I was.... involved, with a Kree woman named Una. She was a medic on my ship.MAR-VELLWhat do you think you're doing?UNADon't try to stop me, Mar-Vell.

Mar-Vell runs forward and places his hand on Una's arm. Una tries to shake him off, and Mar-Vell lets go.MAR-VELLI told you that you're needed here.UNAA medic is needed where the patients are.... and they certainly aren't on-board this ship. They're down there.... on the battlefield.

MAR-VELLYou are not going down there. Ever since Veranke's taken over, our ground battalions have been getting decimated. I am not risking....UNAThat's exactly why I belong there. It's my duty to help those soldiers.MAR-VELLDammit, Una! I am not losing you because you're on some insane crusade! I've lost enough people to this war!UNAAnd if I go, people that would have been lost might be saved!

Mar-Vell looks away as tears start to drip down his cheeks. Una looks down. She then places her hand on Mar-Vell's shoulder.UNAMar-Vell....MAR-VELL (V.O.)She decided to become a combat medic.... helping the troops on the ground. I knew that if she went, her chances of survival were low.

Una then walks past him and heads for the door. Mar-Vell looks at her.MAR-VELLI could stop you.

Una stops and looks back at him.MAR-VELLInvoke Captain's authority. Veto your decision. I could force you to stay.

Una takes a moment before responding.UNAAnd I would never forgive you.

Mar-Vell frowns and closes his eyes.

MAR-VELLGo.MAR-VELL (V.O.)But I let her go.

Mar-Vell and Una embrace. Over their shoulders, Yon-Rogg is seen in the doorway. He is looking at them with a sneer on his face.MAR-VELL (V.O.)As for Yon-Rogg.... he had strong feelings for Una as well. He was always bitter about her choosing me over him.

As Mar-Vell and Una kiss, Yon-Rogg scoffs and turns, walking down the hallway.EXT. THIRD KREE PLANET - NIGHTAnother planet has a ground battle taking place. In the skies, Skrull and Kree fighters engage in combat. Kree and Skrull soldiers clash with laser rifles and physical attacks. One Kree soldier takes a Skrull energy blade to the chest. As the Skrull digs the blade deeper into the Kree soldier's flesh, Una runs up with an energy pistol and guns the Skrull down.

MAR-VELL (V.O.)And despite the captain in me knowing she was making the right decision....Una runs forward and begins treating the soldier's wound. She wraps a bandage around the gash and injects the soldier with a needle.

MAR-VELL (V.O.)The odds eventually caught up with her.Una looks up as Veranke's flagship flies overhead. A look of terror takes over Una's face before one of the ion cannons fires and incinerates her and everyone around her.INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: DETENTION WING - SPACEMar-Vell is still sitting.

MAR-VELLYon-Rogg blamed me for Una's death. He's hated me ever since.Carol looks down.

CAROLI'm so sorry Mar-Vell. But her loss wasn't your fault. That indomitable will you talked about? She had it too.MICHAELShe's right, you know. You can't let.... you can't let guilt eat you up like that.

Mar-Vell looks up.MAR-VELLYeah.

INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: ENGINEERING BAY - SPACEIn the lower decks, two KREE ENGINEERS are shown moving the hazardous materials mentioned by the female Kree on the intercom. The two engineers are in hazmat suits.

KREE ENGINEER #1Just one more door and then break time.KREE ENGINEER #2Why not take a break now?KREE ENGINEER #1Huh?

Before the first engineer can turn, the second pulls out an energy blade and stabs him in the back. The face of the Kree then morphs into that of a SKRULL as the Kree engineer dies.SKRULLA permanent one.

The Skrull pushes the body off the waste material and then pulls an explosive device out of his other pocket. He sets the device on the material and arms it. As he finishes punching in the arming code, a KREE GUARD in a hazmat suit walks by.KREE GUARDWhat is the meaning of.... a Skrull!SKRULLFor the glory of the Queen!

The Skrull presses the detonator in his hand, causing a massive explosion that incinerates both himself and the Kree Guard, as well as blowing a hole in the hull of the ship.

EXT. OUTER SPACE: KREE FLAGSHIP - SPACEThe explosion is seen from the outside of the ship.INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: BRIDGE - SPACEYon-Rogg is sitting in the captain's chair as the explosion rocks the bridge. Ronan, also on the bridge, is jostled by the explosion.

YON-ROGGWhat the hell was that?As the bridge personnel start scrambling, a KREE TECHNICIAN runs up to Yon-Rogg.

KREE TECHNICIANSir! There's been an explosion on the engineering deck!YON-ROGGDetails! What happened?!KREE TECHNICIANChecking footage!

Yon-Rogg gets out of his chair and runs with the Kree technician to one of the computer screens. The surveillance footage shows the two Kree engineers moving the material.KREE TECHNICIANThis was just a few seconds ago.

The screen shows the Skrull stabbing the first engineer, before revealing himself and causing the explosion.YON-ROGGSkrulls. We've been infiltrated.KREE TECHNICIAN #2Sir! Multiple incoming ship signatures detected!YON-ROGGAmbush! Battle stations!

The Kree technician sounds the alarm. Ronan looks out the window, seeing a Kree warship, two support vessels and a squad of fighters closing in.RONANArm all defenses!

INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: DETENTION WING - SPACECarol, Mar-Vell, Salia and Michael all look around as the alarm sounds.

SALIAWhat now?MAR-VELLEmergency alarm. That explosion....

Sar-Torr opens the detention wing door and runs inside.MAR-VELLSar-Torr!SAR-TORRMar-Vell. We're being ambused by Skrulls.MAR-VELLWhat?

Sar-Torr places a key in the panel next to the door, and the cells open. The prisoners walk out of the cells.SALIAI appreciate the early parole, but why are you letting us out?SAR-TORRI never wanted to lock you up to begin with, and I'm not going to trap you all here to be slaughtered by Skrulls.MAR-VELLWhat about the explosion? How did they get close enough to fire without being seen?SAR-TORRThey didn't. One of the Kree engineers on the lower decks was a disguised Skrull. He triggered a suicide detonation that blew a hole in the hull. Power systems are barely holding.

Carol places her hands on her collar, and her yellow energy quickly melts it. She then fires a small energy blast from her left index finger, which cuts the collars on the others. Michael rubs his neck.

CAROLSo what's the plan?Sar-Torr pulls out an energy pistol. He then hands one each to Mar-Vell, Salia and Michael.

EXT. OUTER SPACE: KREE FLAGSHIP - SPACEThe Helion's turrets open fire on the Skrull fighters, which scatter. The support vessels close in, and fire their ion cannons, ripping holes into the hull.INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: HALLWAY - SPACEKree personnel running through a hallway are destroyed by an explosion caused by the ion cannons.EXT. OUTER SPACE: KREE FLAGSHIP - SPACEThe turrets continue to fire on the support vessels.INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: BRIDGE - SPACEYon-Rogg is sitting in his captain's chair as personnel scramble on the bridge.

FEMALE KREE (O.S.)Attention! Attention! All ship personnel! Emergency level five. Ship under heavy fire.YON-ROGGReport on ship systems!KREE TECHNICIANSir! Multiple breaches! Shields at forty percent. Turrets are holding back their fighters, but the ion cannons on those support vessels are tearing us apart! Life support systems barely online!

YON-ROGGMove the ship into assault positioning! I want the turrets attacking their support vessels! Fire all missiles!EXT. OUTER SPACE: KREE FLAGSHIP - SPACEThe Helion fires large sets of cluster missiles, destroying several fighters and damaging the Skrull warships. The support vessels fire their ion cannons again.INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: BRIDGE - SPACEAnother explosion rocks the bridge.

KREE TECHNICIANSir! We've lost an engine! Life support systems are down! Movement impeded! Defense shields are in critical condition!YON-ROGGCan we make a dark energy jump to Hala?KREE TECHNICIANWe would have to divert all ship energy to the emergency engine, and without a warp gate, a dark energy jump could rip the ship apart!YON-ROGGThose support vessels are going to rip the ship apart for sure if we don't get out of here! Initiate dark energy jump sequence!KREE TECHNICIANYes, Captain.

INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: HALLWAY - SPACESar-Torr leads Mar-Vell, Salia, Michael and Carol, who is flying, through the ship as it is rocked by explosions. As they run, a Kree soldier running in the opposite direction is next to a window when it is shattered by a laser blast.

SAR-TORRGet back!Sar-Torr maneuvers to stop the movement of the people behind him. The Kree soldier is sucked out the window, and a moment later, a metal shutter closes over the shattered glass, sealing the window.

SALIAThose look useful.CAROLWhere are we going?SAR-TORRThe shuttle bay is going to be a disaster, so we're not going to bother. We're heading for the bridge.FEMALE KREE (O.S.)Attention! Attention! All personnel! Ship in critical condition! Captain Yon-Rogg has ordered for this vessel to make an emergency unprotected dark energy jump to Hala. Diverting all energy to emergency engine. Brace for jump in two minutes.MAR-VELLAn unprotected jump? Shit.

EXT. OUTER SPACE: KREE FLAGSHIP - SPACEMissiles from the Helion destroy one of the Skrull support vessels. The other Skrull ships start pulling back.INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: BRIDGE - SPACERonan is walking onto the bridge. Yon-Rogg is still sitting in his captain's chair.

YON-ROGGStatus!KREE TECHNICIANAll power draining to emergency engine. The Skrull ships are retreating.RONANThey're probably detecting the dark energy field growing around the Helion. They don't want to be torn to pieces when we jump.YON-ROGGGood thing too, because we're barely limping into this jump. Secure all stations! Lock down the entire ship!

KREE TECHNICIANBrace for dark energy jump in one minute!Sar-Torr, Carol, Mar-Vell, Salia and Michael run onto the bridge as the doors lock down. The shutters on all doors and windows close.

KREE TECHNICIANAll doors and shutters locked. Hope everyone's comfortable.YON-ROGGI'll be comfortable once we're on Hala.

Ronan looks over his shoulder and sees Sar-Torr's party walking over.RONANWhat are they doing here?!

Yon-Rogg looks behind him.YON-ROGGSar-Torr! You released the prisoners?!SAR-TORRThey were defenseless! I freed them in case we were boarded!RONANWe will deal with you once we've back on the homeworld.

Yon-Rogg gets out of his chair and runs over to the technician.YON-ROGGHow much longer?KREE TECHNICIANEmergency engine almost at maximum power!YON-ROGGGet us out of here!

The Kree technician looks at his watch.KREE TECHNICIANDark energy jump in five on my mark! Five!

INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: ENGINEERING BAY - SPACETwo Kree engineers are seen holding onto bars on the walls.

KREE TECHNICIAN (O.S.)Four!INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: MEDICAL BAY - SPACEA Kree medic holds onto a metallic pole next to a patient bed.

KREE TECHNICIAN (O.S.)Three!EXT. OUTER SPACE: KREE FLAGSHIP - SPACEThe Helion is absorbed in a purple energy field.

KREE TECHNICIAN (O.S.)Two!INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: BRIDGE - SPACECarol is seen standing on the bridge, and her eyes widen.

KREE TECHNICIAN (O.S.)One!The Kree technician looks up from his watch.

KREE TECHNICIANMark!EXT. OUTER SPACE: KREE FLAGSHIP - SPACEThe Helion is surrounded by purple energy before disappearing in a light explosion.EXT. HALA: ATMOSPHERE - DAYThe Helion warps into the atmosphere of the Kree homeworld, Hala. As it warps in, pieces of the ship break off, and the ship begins to fall out of orbit.INT. KREE FLAGSHIP: BRIDGE - DAYThe people inside of the Helion's bridge are all jostled about, with some falling down. Carol starts to fly.

KREE TECHNICIANWe've entered Hala's atmosphere! Ship integrity at fifty nine percent. Hala's gravity is pulling us in, and we can't correct the flight course!

YON-ROGGOpen the shutters!The Kree technician pushes a button on his console, which opens all of the shutters on the ship. Carol flies over to one of the windows, and sees the planet surface slowly getting closer.

CAROLWe're descending too fast. Are you sure there's nothing you can do to ease the speed?KREE TECHNICIANNo. The unprotected jump completely destroyed our engines.

Yon-Rogg pulls out his pistol.YON-ROGGNow, there is the problem of you, Ms. Marvel.CAROLWhat?

Yon-Rogg aims his pistol at Carol.YON-ROGGGet off my ship.MAR-VELLWe don't have time for this, Yon-Rogg!MICHAELStop it, you maniac!SALIACommunist!SAR-TORRCaptain, please....

Yon-Rogg smacks Sar-Torr across the face with his pistol.YON-ROGGEnough, peasant!

Carol flies over to Yon-Rogg and lands in front of him.CAROLYon-Rogg, listen, this is hardly the time to....

YON-ROGGDon't tell me what to do, human! Turn around, now!Carol sighs and turns around.

CAROLYou're making a huge mistake.Yon-Rogg aims the pistol at the back of Carol's head.

YON-ROGGI am the captain of this vessel, and I shall....Carol charges her fist with yellow energy, and then turns around and punches Yon-Rogg so hard that he crashes through one of the glass windows. The metal shutter then closes on the window.

CAROLI'm a major.MAR-VELLCarol!

Ronan walks over to Carol.RONANHow dare you!

Ronan lifts his hammer.CAROLRonan, wait!

Ronan pauses.CAROLYon-Rogg was an idiot, and he was gonna get everyone on this ship killed. I think I can save it.RONANHow?CAROLI'm going to lift it.SALIAYou what?

MICHAELCarol, I know you're strong, but this is hardly the time to test yourself.CAROLNow's the perfect time.

Carol looks at Mar-Vell, who nods at her. She then turns to look at the Kree technician.CAROLIf you want anyone on this ship to live, you're gonna lock all the shutters after I leave. This thing is gonna turn into a pressure cooker in a minute.

The technician nods. Carol then flies towards one of the windows.RONANMs. Marvel!

Carol looks at Ronan.RONANThis changes nothing.CAROLDidn't expect it to.
