MS Spring Concert Reflection By: Chandrakrit Bhasin ( Trumpet Player )
This is a reflection on my Summative Fine Arts Assessment May 2014 MS Instrumental Concert on May 23rd 2014. Here are my thoughts. I think that the composition that my group ( the trumpets ) did best was Kilauea because we were playing strong and because we were we were 1excited and thrilled, to play this we played strong and loud. The composition that I personally did best on was Old McDonald Had a Band. I did well on this piece because the fingerings were easy and it was a repeating notes. Also, It was easy because I knew those notes and so I could identify the fingerings as said above. The piece that felt most emotionally and is my favorite satisfying was Kilauea by Brian Balmages 2because when I and my peers played it, it felt like I was actually there. Like the volcano was right behind me exploding and I was standing in front of it with music playing around me… I felt great!
The piece that I felt was demanded the most out The Link of me intellectually, emotionally, and technically 3 was creepy crawlies because it had many notes 4like the B♭ that I didn't quite know and it was very creepy this is dumb because as the name states “ CREEPY crawlies” so It needs to be creepy. During the concert, I felt very relaxed because there was music, and somehow music whether loud or quiet always soothes me. I know that I was ready for this concert because I practiced outside of class. An example is when I came in after school for half an hour practicing on Thursday in the last week of April. Something that I would do differently would be come in more often. Some of the comments that I got from my mo was that I played well. Other comments had nothing to do with music, it was about my tie. Some things that I noticed was that when the HS

band was playing Happy , they went enjoying it as much as we were, I could see this on their 5faces.
The Link 6 For us to become more advanced, we need to work on making more clear sounds and trying to keep an eye on the conductor. In conclusion, I would like to state that this was a very good concert and I had a lot of fun. If you liked this, enjoy more fascinating entries on my Blog!
