Precious Memories

Tammye was born to the parentage of Duffie and Doris Steber Williams on Sunday, August 27, 1961 in Overton, Texas. She departed this life Saturday, July 13, 2019 in Houston, Texas.

She attended church at East Bethel Baptist Church while in Houston; however, at an early age she united with the Macedonia Baptist Church in Overton and remained a member until her demise.

In her youth, she attended and graduated in the Class of 1979 from West Rusk High School. Later she garnered her Associates Degree at Kilgore College in 1982 and then relocated to Houston, Texas.

Her work career consisted of employment at Southwestern Bell, a Diagnostic Center, and Keystrokes Medical Transcription Services.

Tammye was a kind and gentle person who loved her family and friends. One of her favorite pastimes was visiting the City of New Orleans; especially attending Essence Fest wearing her favorite colors of red and black. Listening to the Blues and cooking topped the list of her hobbies.

Her parents, Duffie Williams and Doris Steber Horn preceded her in death.

She remains in the hearts of her husband, Murphy Wilkerson of Houston, TX; a sister, Sonya Horn of Raceland, LA; three brothers, Randall Horn and his wife, Jacquline, and Terrance Horn all of Houston, TX; and Byron Horn of Sioux City, IA; an uncle, Lincoln Steber of Houston, TX; two aunts, Margie Kennedy and Thelma Steber both of Kilgore, TX;

Also mourning her loss are her god-daughter, Quiana Kelly; special best friends, Sonja Brewster and Roy Abbs; special cousins, Ma’lae Watson and Tynesha Watson and a host of other relatives and friends.
