Preparing to install the Starter Kit
Software Prerequisites
SAP BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation
The starter kit requires SAP Planning and Consolidation 10.0 Support Package 4 (10.0.4.0), version for the Microsoft platform, or any higher version to be restored and operated.
EPM Add-in Excel Client
The starter kit is shipped with Excel reports leveraging the SAP BusinessObjects EPM Excel add-in.
The starter kit requires SBOP EPM Excel Client 10.0 with Support Package 7 and patch level 3 or any higher version to be restored and operated
Microsoft Office
Most of the reports use the latest specific Microsoft Excel 2007 features in terms of calculation formulas, themes for cell formats and conditional formatting. Therefore, only Microsoft Office 2007 (or higher) is compatible with the schedules and reports of the starter kit.
SQL Server
The database server must run SQL Server 2008 or higher service packs of this product supported by BPC. Prior to the installation of the Starter Kit, please check that the environment is properly working by connecting to the default environmentshell and process any dimension in the administration console with no error in the process log.
Starter Kit Prerequisites
Using the System Admin User
The “SAP_IFRS” environment is restored on the Microsoft system using the standard Planning and Consolidation Server Manager Software feature.
Only the System Admin user is allowed to access the Server Manager. If a security message informs you that your user does not have Admin Privileges, please login in a new MS Windows session with the credentials of the initial BPC installation user.
In order to unzip the SK_for_IFRS.zip file please check that an extraction tool supporting the “.zip” or the “.rar” file format is installed on the server.
As per the restoration of any environment, please ensure that enough storage space is available
on the server.

Installing the Starter Kit
Restoring the Starter Kit for IFRS
1. Extract the content of the starter kit archive file to a folder located on the user machine. For example C:\Starter Kit.
2. Checking the extracted files
The starter kit is an environment like the sample environmentshell. It contains the same package of three components:
- The Database folder (SQL)
- The Web folder (Webfolder)
- The Files system folder (FileDB)
Please check these three folders are correctly unzipped in the destination folder you selected.
Do not unzip their subfolders that should remain as archived.
Restoration steps
1. In the Windows taskbar, click on Start/Programs/SAP BusinessObjects/Planning and Consolidation
and select Planning and Consolidation Server Manager
2. Select Environment > Restore Environment
3. In the Step 1, for the environment folder field, browse to the „SAP_IFRS‟ folder that contains the three BPC folders (c:\SAP_IFRS in the example). The Server manager should automatically detect the WebFolder, the FileDB and the SQL Database files
4. Click on “Next”
5. In the Step 2, keep the local server as default and click „Next‟
6. In the Step 3, keep the SQL data directory as default and click „Next‟
7. Once the restore is completed, verify that no error occurred.
8. Depending on the installed Support Package version of BPC10, you might have to migrate this
SAP_IFRS once it is restored.
