Ayios Georgios Lyceum Lakatamia

• Our school Ayios Georgios Lyceum ,was founded in 1998, and has since become an educational and cultural centre of the area, promoting knowledge as well as the spiritual and emotional development and well-being of its students.

• It is located in Lakatamia, a Nicosia suburb, next to the river Pediaios, in a green natural environment, in a peaceful residential area.

• It is one of the largest a public school in Nicosia , the capital of Cyprus, and is presently attended by 628 students aged 15-18 years and 99 teachers.

•The school building is modern, with up-to-date facilities and equipment, and offers a broad curriculum.• Among the school buildings is a small chapel dedicated to St. George. •There are 26 regular teaching classrooms as well as 20 specialised classrooms. •The latter consist of Music, Languages, Technology, History, Computing, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Typing, Graphic Art, Art, Childcare, Architectural Design and a Library.

Every year the school organizes various extra-curricular activities including :

• Several sports events

voluntary work and fund-raising activities for charity

enviromental programmes

theatre productions

music performances

cross-curricular student conferences

We strongly believe that Erasmus+ is a further opportunity for our students to enhance their knowledge about other cultures and lifestyles, broaden their horizons, and raise their awareness about issues affecting young people in the E.U.
