1. April 17, 2015: meeting with students from Physics Faculty of Lomonosov MSU, recruiting new chapter members. Discussion of SPIE benefits.
2. May 12, 2015: Meeting of the members of MSU SPIE Student Chapter. Voting for
candidates for Officer Travel Grant. Welcoming new members. Discussing ideas for Outreach activity
3. August 9-‐13, 2015: Chapter Vice-‐President Daniil Shipilo took part in SPIE Optics and Photonics Conference. Daniil also took part in the Student Chapter Leadership Workshop during SPIE Optics and Photonics Conference as a representative of our Chapter, made a presentation of his scientific work “Coherent interference of a number of filaments as a step to superfilamentation”. He was a recipient of the Officer Travel Grant.

Major Chapter events in 2011: Accomplished chapter activities for the period from December 2010 till December 2011:
1. February 11, 2011: Meeting of the members of MSU SPIE Student Chapter.
Voting for candidates for Officer Travel Grant;
Welcoming new members. Discussion of SPIE benefits;
2. April 15, 2011: Out Chapter partially sponsored The Ceremony of Initiation for new students of the International Laser Center of MSU. The schedule included optical competitions, games and banquet.
"New" and "Old" Students of Chair of General Physics and Wave Processes played the guitar and sang songs after the Ceremony of Initiation 2011.
3. May 20, 2011: Meeting of the members of MSU SPIE Student Chapter.
Discussing new ideas for Science Festival 2011. Preparing the Outreach Grant Application.
4. August 31, 2015: SPIE Student Chapter meeting. Report of Daniil Shipilo on his
participation in the Leadership Workshop at SPIE Optics + Photonics 2015. Discussion and planning the Science Festival at the International Laser Center of MSU. Preparing the Invitation for PhD and undergraduate students studied optics and photonics to join the SPIE Lomonosov Student Chapter. Pizza party.
5. September 12, 2015: SPIE Student Chapter meeting. Preparing new demonstrations
and lectures for Science Festival at the International Laser Center of MSU. 6. September 21-‐24, 2015: Chapter President Vera Andreeva took part in SPIE Security
and Defence Conference in Toulouse, France. Vera presentated of her scientific work “Spatio-‐spectral characteristics of THz radiation from two-‐color femtosecond filament”.
7. October 2, 2015: meeting with students from Physics Faculty of Lomonosov MSU,
recruiting new chapter members. Discussion of SPIE benefits. 8. October 11, 2015: During annual Moscow Science Festival there was an Open Day in
International Laser Center organized by MSU SPIE Student Chapter. The event consisted of: • Lecture of Dr. S.A. Magnitskiy “Quantum challenge of the 21st century”
• Master-‐Class “Wonderful properties of light” from undergraduate students of SPIE

During and after lectures and demonstrations our guests had a chance to have a snack and chat with Chapter members
Children got prizes for right answers at quiz after lectures and Laser Chess/Hit the Target Competitions
Tour to the laboratory of ultrastrong laser fields
Tour to the laboratory of THz spectroscopy
Tour to the laboratory of femtosecond nanophotonics
Ekaterina Migal explains how laser works to the youngest guest of the Festival.
• Visiting tour to the educational laboratory "Lasers and Nonlinear Optics" made by Dr. I. V. Golovnin
• Vladislav Pankratov and Kirill Grigoriev gave a lecture on the properties of light
9. October 12-‐16, 2015: Three Chapter members (Vera Andreeva, Daniil Shipilo and
Aleksander Ushakov) participated in The School on Photonics and Optical information
Technologies held in St. Petersburg, presented their scientific work and also took part in the meeting and activities with other student Chapters.
10. November 25, 2015: Our Chapter organized an Educational Outreach activity for school
children (12-‐17 years). Students from three schools took part in this event, which was held in Moscow school No. 710. We have prepared a variety of lectures, quizzes and demonstrations of optics. All experiments, shown to students have been recorded on camera, and will soon be available for viewing on our Youtube channel. A detailed report on the event, as well as links to the video, will be sent in a due time.

2016” conference in Saint-‐Petersburg, Russia (October 2016) 5) Participation in the 8th Moscow Science Festival, Open Day at the International Laser Center
(October 2016) 6) Annual promotion of The Chair of General Physics and Wave Processes, MSU International Laser
