Community Vision Plan
An effort to determine the appropriate services that will be offered at the Cleveland Public Library’s branch locations by 2019 through authentic engagement and valued input from community residents.
Current branches in Group 2:•South Brooklyn•Brooklyn•Mt Pleasant•E 131st
Community Vision Plan
A report will be produced for each group with recommendations tailored to each branch, which may include:

•Library does not have a future plan for the Mt Pleasant Branch building or the East 131st Branch building. This Community Vision Plan is the public engagement process to create a plan.
•There is no budget set for the Mt Pleasant Branch and East 131st Branch recommendations. The library wantstoknowwhatthecommunityneedsarefirst,thenplanfinancialinvestmentsaccordingly.
•Thedefinitionof"21stCenturyLibrary"willbeco-created by each branch community. TheClevelandPublicLibraryrecognizeseachcommunity has different needs and priorities.
TheMountPleasantBranchwashousedinthreepreviouslocations:3335East118thSt,asastationin1923,13512KinsmanRd.in1928,and13700KinsmanRdin1930beforefindingitscurrenthome.Originallyabank,thebuildingwasremodeledin1937fortheLibrarygiv-ingresidentsaccesstoa10,300squarefootfacility.Aonestoryclubroomwasaddedtotherearofthebuildingin1949.Thebranchwasremodeledagainin1981.
East 131st Street Branch is unique due to its many community partnerships: The Boys and GirlsClubofAmerica,ChaplesideAdultDay-careCenter,andKidzHealth2020.OneofthemanyCPLbranchesdesignedbylocalarchitecturefirmWalker&Weeks,the14,100-square-footbuildingwasfirstopenedin1929andwasrenovatedin1979.ThisbranchislocatedinCleveland’s Corlett neighborhood.
