Skills and Grading 1st quarter: “individual skills”

scales, tone, rhythm, unification of counting styles “How are we supposed to sound in junior high?”

2nd quarter: “whole ensemble” balance, blend, intonation, more scales, literature, cross-curricular

connections (music history, acoustics, cultural relevance) Grading:

4 points every day for having: music, instrument, pencil, and a great attitude.

Written assignments: 10/25/40 points Playing assessments: 10/25/40 points Concerts: 150 points (includes student self-assessment)
