    TECHNICAL FEATURES

    OMICRON S EVO multifunctional unitThis is an innovative multifunctional unit, available in 2-pipe and 4-pipe versions to respond to the many needs of our large customer base in a customised manner. These machines use R134a refrigerant liquid and are fitted with scroll compressors. The use of a green refrigerating fluid like the R134a and the high energy efficiency features of these units allow you to make a choice which assures great energy savings.Here below the operating principle of the 2- and 4-pipe units is illustrated.

    OPERATION

    OMICRON S EVO 4T: 4-pipe unitThe 4-pipe multifunctional unit produces cold and hot water on two separate circuits, independently and at the same time, according to the diagrams shown on page 7.

    OMICRON S EVO 2T: 2-pipe unitThe two-pipe multifunction unit provides chilled water for summer cooling or hot water for winter heating on the same circuit; at the same time or independently, domestic hot water can also be produced. The operating modes are illustrated on page 8.

    DEFROSTINGDefrosting is the system used to avoid the accumulation of frost on the evaporator coil and the removal of any that has formed, when operating in only domestic hot water or only hot water for heating mode. This is done by reverse cycle with the fans off for external air temperatures of less than 15C; with external temperatures above 15C defrosting is done by air with the compressors off. This reduces the number of defrosting cycles by up to 65% and increases thermal performance by up to 10%.

    CONDENSATION AND EVAPORATION PRESSURE CONTROLThis function allows the machine to effectively satisfy the various demands of the system throughout the whole year, and is assured by the modulating adjustment (cut-off device) of the fan speed depending on the pressure measured by the transducers, to extend the operating limits.

    AUTOMATIC HOT WATER DELIVERY COMPENSATION CONTROL Fitted as standard on all machines: this function compensates the temperature of the hot water delivery (automatically changing the set-point of the heat pump operation), as the external air temperature drops (climate curve); ideal for very low external air temperatures where the production of hot water is in any case guaranteed.

    ELECTRONIC THERMOSTAT VALVEEnergy savings, precision and comfort all delivered as standard, with the electronic thermostat valve that continuously adjusts the power delivery.

    BODYSelf-supporting frame and removable panels in galvanised steel sheet painted in RAL 5014 with polyester powder at 180C, to offer high weather resistance. Stainless steel screws and bolts.

    COMPRESSORSHermetic orbiting spiral scrolls, linked in parallel, with capacity steps: 50%, 100% of the power for single circuit, single compressor; 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% of the power for dual circuit, dual compressor. The compressors are fitted as standard with crankshaft heater, oil level control, oil equalisation line; the units are fitted with two compressors for each circuit.Closed in the compartment and separated from the air flow, the compressors are accessible through a special panel for maintenance operations, even when the unit is on.The electric motor is fitted with an integrated Klixon thermal overload protection.

    REFRIGERANT AIR EXCHANGERComposed of a high efficiency row coil with copper tubes and aluminium fins. A mesh is installed as standard to protect the finned pack and also protects against hale.

    FANSAxial fans driven directly by a 6-pole electric motor with integrated klixon thermal overload protection. Motor protection category IP 54. The fan is fitted with a safety guard in compliance with UNI EN 294.

    WATER REFRIGERANT EXCHANGERBraze-welded stainless steel AISI 316 plates insulated by a shell of closed-cell foam material.In evaporator mode, a temperature probe acts as safety guard against freezing.Flow switch fitted as standard. Enhanced for use with R134a, improves the efficiency of the unit and at the same time reduces size and refrigerant requirements.

    RECOVERY EXCHANGER Braze-welded stainless steel AISI 316 plates insulated by a shell of closed-cell foam material.Flow switch fitted as standard. Enhanced for use with R134a, improves the efficiency of the unit and at the same time reduces size and refrigerant requirements.

    REFRIGERANT CIRCUITMain components: liquid line shut off valve, quid line solenoid valve, dryer filter with replaceable solid cartridge, liquid line sight glass with humidity indicator, electronic thermostat valve, high pressure safety valve, high and low pressure transducers, high and low pressure switches, liquid receiver and separator, circuit configuration solenoid valves, 4-way reversing valve, flow meter on both user and recovery side.

    HYDRAULIC MODULE OPTIONS

    OMICRON S EVO /ST: unit with pump and tankThe following configurations are available for the base unit: ST 1P: with 1 pump on both user side and recovery side, for all sizes. ST 1PS: with 1 pump on both user side and recovery side, for all sizes. ST 2P: with 2 pumps on both user side and recovery side, up to size

    11.4. ST 2PS+2P: with 2 pumps with tank on user side, 2 pumps without tank

    on recovery side, up to size 11.4. ST 2P+1C: with 2 pumps on user side, 1 circulator on recovery side, from

    size 11.4 to 21.4. ST 2PS+1C: with 2 pumps with tank on user side, 1 circulator on recovery

    side, from size 11.4 to 21.4.

    For the two circulation pump version (one in stand-by, both sized to 100% capacity), the changeover is automatic, when programmed or in the event of a malfunction.

    ACCESSORY VERSIONS

    OMICRON S EVO /LN:low noise unitIn addition to the components of the Omicron S Evo, this version has a fully soundproofed compressor compartment (using high acoustic impedance and sound-absorbent materials).

    OMICRON S EVO /SLN:super low noise unitIn addition to the components of the LN, this version has oversized coils and reduced fan speed.

    OMICRON S EVO /LT:Low temperatureThis unit assures heat pump operation at lower evaporation temperatures thanks to the finned coil designed specifically to extend the machines operating limits to lower external air temperatures. The extension of the operating limits compared to the standard version is illustrated in a special chapter below.

    OMICRON S EVO /HT: high temperature unitThis unit reaches higher condensation temperatures than the corresponding base unit through the use of specifically selected recovery exchangers. In this way hot water can be produced at a temperature of up to 65C. The extension of the operating limits compared to the standard version is illustrated in a special chapter below. This option can be added to all of the previous versions.

    ACCESSORIES

    REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT ACCESSORIES- Doppio set point; (alta/bassa temperatura) con ununica valvola espansione

    elettronica di serie.Double set point (high/low temperature) with a single electronic expansion valve fitted as standard. The evaporator is sized according to the high temperature operation. The set point can be changed from the keyboard or the digital input, please specify at the time of order.

    - High and low pressure gauges available for all models (the suction and delivery pressured can be read on the control display also in the standard machine configuration). However, for 4 compressor units, the suction and delivery pressures are measured by transducers and the relative values can then be read on the control unit display.

    - Liquid receivers.- Compressor suction and delivery valves.- Low water temperature kit.

    HYDRAULIC CIRCUIT ACCESSORIES- Anti-freeze heater for evaporator (in ST operation an anti-freeze heater is

    also fitted on the pumps and the pipes) and the recovery exchanger.- Water side safety valve (ST version only).

    ELECTRICAL ACCESSORIES- RS485 serial interface supporting Carel, Modbus, Echelon and Bacnet

    protocols, compatible also with Johnson and Trend supervision.- Power factor correction cos 0.9 under nominal operating conditions

    (power supply connected by the installer directly on the main; the accessory is combined with the clean operating contacts).

    - Remote user terminal panel (in addition to the standard one).- Variable set point with remote signal (0-1V, 0-10V, 0-20mA, 4-20mA).- Clean operating contacts.- Alarms management with three levels of gravity.- Text message technical assistance service.- Absorbed current limitation.

    OTHER ACCESSORIES- Rubber or spring vibration dampers;- Prepainted aluminium condensation coil;- Condensation coil with aluminium passivation and polyurethane coating.

    The treatment consists of a double layer, the first of which passivates the aluminium and acts as a primer and the second which is a polyurethane-based surface coating. The product offers high corrosion resistance and is protected against practically all kinds of environmental conditions.
