Sub : Report of Health education programme on "How to handle
Emergencies, Healthy diet, lifestyle modification".
Health awareness and educational camp on "How to handle emergencies" was
organized for the Mumbai Port Trust employees and their family members in co-ordination
with Global Hospitals, Parel.
Accordingly Family Welfare Centre, Medical Department organized an awareness
and educational programmes on 1) Brain strokes, Heart related Emergencies, head injuries,
chemical injuries, fracture, 2) Healthy diet, lifestyle modification, 3) Women related health
issues at the following venues.

Dr. Sagar Galwankar, Head of Emergency Unit, from Global Hospitals,
delivered excellent and very informative talk. He provided the basic information on
cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid.

Survey was carried out, of three MbPT residential buildings, Old colony,
Abhilashanagar and Sadbhavananagar to identify the problems such as adjustment problem
with the family members, status of immunization, family planning, any kind of addictions,
economical problem and health related problems etc.. Accordingly, groupwise programs were
held in the Auditorium Mumbai Port Trust Hospital, followed by administering Inj. Rubella
for girls, Inj. HBV for the women and the youth and gynaec checkup for the women
residents. Group talk and interactive sessions were conducted by Health Educator and the
staff of Family Welfare Center.
The response was very good and all the programs were successful. Circulars were
prepared in Hindi, Marathi & English and were sent for wide publicity well in advance.
Health Educator, the staff from Family Welfare Centre, put in their efforts to make the
program a great success.
The report was approved by Dy.Chairman & Chairman, MbPT.
