MUSEC is a course particularly devoted to acute care surgeons that shows theultrasound as a tool for decision-making. MUSEC is a Modular Focused UltraSound Course with 2/3 of time dedicated to hands-on training on healthy models, phantoms, simulated case, and a preliminary theoretical part on an e-learning platform. Two main aims for each module: these are teaching US technique and abnormal findings in one hand and practicing US driven surgical decision-making in different settings on the other hand. Our teaching system is based on practical sessions; we are strongly convinced that the best way to learn is to do it yourself with tutors that are coaching and lead your improvements, in order to optimize your efforts and your time. For this reason we created a web based e-learning platform, where almost all the theorical and “boring” lessons are uploaded(e-learning is mandatory in order to complete the residential course). MUSEC takes place in Althaia (Xarxa Assistencial de Manresa), two modules: E-FAST and a module of US Emergency Surgery which includes intra and extra-abdominal pathology that anyone may face while in duty (appendicitis, cholecystitis, hernia, diverticulitis, compressive US and aorta), with some interventionism in the workshop. English is the official language of MUSEChowever, due to the presence of national instructors we assure the use of the region’s co-official language throughout the course. Attendies are requested to be fully accreditated by El Consell   Català   de   Formació   Continuada   de   les  Professions  Sanitàries  i  de  Formació  Continuada  del  Sistema  Nacional  de  Salud    Roser  Farré  Physician  in  General  and  Digestive  Surgery.Althaia,  Manresa.
