SynopsisThe hilarious story of a young woman’s search for her birth father. This sunny and funny tale unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago.

From the Director …MAMMA MIA! is a jukebox musical showcasing the influential music from the iconic band ABBA. The unprecedented popularity of ABBA remains in 2021, 47 years since they first burst onto the world stage after winning the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest. Loved by all ages, bursting with infectious energy, daggy jokes and some of the best pop songs ever written, MAMMA MIA! is a director’s dream.

Finally, after an ominous 2020, MAMMA MIA! comes to the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre in January 2021 after the musical, which was due to open in March 2020 at the Playhouse Theatre, was pulled from the boards on our final rehearsal. No matter what venue MAMMA MIA! is staged, the show is vibrant and the songs familiar. This will be enhanced by some incredible lighting, clever set, energetic choreography, and a complete ensemble performance.

No production happens by itself, and as always there is an unseen crew, volunteers and experts behind the scenes who have worked for many (many) months to bring this production to life, they are equal stars as to the amazing cast of 41! So, whilst travel restrictions are still in place & many of cast have not seen family for over a year, grab your passports, settle in your seats & let us take you to the idyllic is-land of Kalokairi, Greece. It may only be for a couple of hours, but like a postcard, I am sure, the memory will be lasting.
