Accept hypothesis for these
four tests
Meaning…
Gender did not play a role in the results of our survey
Men and women are willing to spend generally the same amount for a UTA concert ticket
Music is somewhat equally important to both males and females
Both males and females equally state that they ‘might’ attend a UTA concert
All academic statuses are willing to spend between 16-30 dollars on a UTA concert ticket
ANOVA TESTComparing the ‘music is very important to me’
response with the response to ‘will you attend a
non-UTA concert this year’
Hypothesis: There is no difference within the
samples
48 people will attend a non-UTA concert
38 people might will attend a non-UTA
concert
24 people will not attend a non-UTA concert
p-value: 0.066
We ACCEPT our hypothesis
2 PAIRED SAMPLES TESTS Comparing average
preference for rock over hip-
hop by participants in survey
Hypothesis: There is no
difference within the
samples
Measured on 1-5 point scale
with 1 being most preferred
and 5 being least preferred
Rock mean 2.42 close to 2
Hip Hop mean 2.92 close to
3
p-value: 0.026
REJECT hypothesis, Rock is

• Katy Perry mean 2.48 close to 2
• Kanye West mean 3.04
• p-value: 0.004

CORRELATION TEST
Is there a correlation between the following
responses?
. Music is very important to me
. Student experience at UTA concert
. Student age
Hypothesis: There is no correlation within the
samples
Data reveals there is no correlation with
these three test groups
p-value > .05
We ACCEPT our hypothesis
Conclusions There is no substantial consensus with musical artist
preference
The highest consensus of 6.36% was for Bruno Mars and Coldplay
The second highest consensus of 4.55% was for Taylor Swift and Beyonce
Based on the ordinal question in our survey, this is the preference from UTA students for the following selection of artists: Katy Perry (1, most preferred)
The White Stripes (2) Kanye West (3)
Tim Mcgraw (4)
Tiesto (5, least preferred)
Conclusions Through many sample comparisons, we determined
that there is no consensus here at UTA with musical
preference
If UTA wants to have successful events, they should
have concerts more often that contain a variety of
genres so they can appeal to more students at UTA.
They should also offer special ticket prices between
$16-30 to UTA students.
