Personally, I think this image is superb. I think it strongly presents the style of rock in the era. It’s a very eye catching image, the pose that is being held is very interesting even though it is a photo taken simply from a performance by the band.

The Rolling Stones

I like this image because it suggests the humorous and jokey side to the band, which is quite fun. I think it therefore is quite an iconic image of them.

Marilyn Monroe

I love this image of Marilyn Monroe because although it is so simple, it seems very perfect and all the focus is drawn immediately to her face.

This image of Marilyn Monroe getting ready is very stylised and seductive which I think reveals the kind of effect Monroe had, but at the same time it looks very natural.

The Cure

I think this is a very iconic image of the two, because the direct eye contact can be quite intimidating which reveals a slightly punky-rocky attitude.

This is one of my favourite images (not only of the band), I think it’s very different and strange, it’s slightly creepy which, I believe, makes it quite a unique photo.

David Bowie

Ziggy Stardust

This image is great because it is so slick and stylistic, I think the dark background bring out David Bowies face which is holding a very strong stern expression. It seems quite sharp and almost a painful or angry image.

I like this photo because I think all the colours seem very mismatched but I like the the chaos of it, and I think it represents ‘Ziggy Stardust’ very well.
