MUSIC SHOWCASE: Austin French, Freedom Hymn

Lots of people still don’t know that there’s a high-quality alternative to profanity-laced, sexually explicit radio. Our new “Let’s Do Family Better” ads are tailored to get their attention. We’re hoping they’ll give us a listen and notice the positive change in what they hear, how they feel, and the new words and music their kids are picking up and trying out at home… words like “You Are Loved”.

The Family has some great new resources for when life gets challenging. Lots of good stuff for all of us to “Do Family Better!”

Airborne! The Carbaugh family and friends prove there’s more than one way to get “on the air”. They were pretty excited about the great new Family swag they scored at our Plymouth Family Fun stop!

Thanks to the Landmark Resort in Door County and BP Neenah Standard for the

awesome weekly Getaway Giveaway grand prizes! Congrats to all 10 vacation winners, and thanks to everyone for coming out to see us! As always, we love meeting you! Thanks to these great sponsors!

$411,000 worth of supplies donated!

Save the date! Feb. 17 – March 10, 2019

“I was blown away when I walked into that gym to help on sorting day! The idea that SO much stuff was donated by SO many people in our community. Words cannot describe. I couldn’t imagine how many people it had taken to donate that huge mountain of stuff! It also gave me a bit of hope that there was a lot of people who were obviously supportive of those folks, like me, who needed help. I cannot wait until next year when I can hopefully be on the OTHER side of the donations…..putting something into the boxes to help someone else!”-Tim, Apricity Sober Living House Program Client

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease Bundt pan. Peel, core and slice apples, set aside. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, set aside.

2. Mix together flour, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, beat together eggs, oil, sugar, cider and vanilla. Add flour mixture to sugar mixture and beat until smooth.

3. Spoon a scant third of batter into Bundt pan. Top with ½ the apples and then ½ the cinnamon mixture. Repeat with 1/3 of the batter, the rest of the apples, then cinnamon. Cover all with last 1/3 of batter.

4. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and fifteen minutes, until cake is browned and begins to shrink back from edges of pan.

5. Turn out onto pretty plate and let cool. Cover it before it’s completely cool, so it doesn’t dry out!

6. Before serving, drizzle with warmed caramel topping and a simple powdered sugar glaze. Sprinkle with walnuts.

Terri’s Notes

This is amazing as a dessert or for brunch! No Bundt pan? Pour half the batter into a 13” X 9” pan, layer on apples, 3/4 of cinnamon mix. Spoon on other 1/2 the batter, sprinkle with last of cinnamon mix and bake. Baking time will be much shorter, toothpick should work. Serve with caramel or whipped cream.

“My husband is always hiding snacks, but we all know where they are anyway. He puts them in the cabinet above the microwave or on the corner cupboard Lazy-Susan. We don’t keep snacks in either of those places, but I’m in those cupboards all the time. The best part is when I eatthem, he blames the boys - LOL! Oops, I guess I just confessed.” - Karen Faust Anderson “My Mom used to hide candy, etc. in the freezer. She’d put freezer paper around it, and label it ‘LIVER.’ Of course, we didn’t know it wasn’t liver, and left it alone. She finally came clean after we had all moved out!” - Jenny Jacobs-Garsomke

It’s a great comfort to be reminded that God still loves us in spite of our fears, insecurities, doubt, questions, sin, etc. Thanks to THE FAMILY for ministering to my heart.
