Music Video Pitch – Little Comets 

The Track I have chosen to use is ‘Figures’ by Little Comets. Little Comets are an indie rock-quartet from Jarrow and Newcastle-upon-Tyne. They released their debut single in 2009. In 2008 they signed to Columbia records but contract was terminated in 2010. In 2011 they released their debut album through the label dirty hit.

Genre

The genre of this music video is Indie rock, this is a sub-genre of alternative rock that originated in the United Kingdom and the United States in the 1980s. Indie rock is extremely diverse, with sub-genres that include post-rock, indie pop, dream pop, emo and indie-electric also known as electronica. Music by little comets has also been labelled as Indietronica, this is a music genre that combines indie, electronica, rock and pop music. Typical instruments used in indietronica music are electronic keyboard, synthesizer, sampler and drum machine.

The ideas for the music video are:

• Close ups of specific words in the song, not just the chorus.

• Part conceptual, part performance

Inspirations:

One of the little comets inspirations were Claude Debussy. He was a French composer.

For my music video inspirations I drew from something more modern than this. I got inspiration from more modern bands.
