However, many schools of remote settings are deprived of basic WASH facilities in Southern Pujab. For its part, Muslim Aid Pakistan has pro- vided WASH support to 67 government primary schools of Thesil Jam Pur, by constructing latrines, in- stalling handpumps and building hand-washing facilities. The initiative has improved WASH practices, in- creased attendance of students, especially of girls and enhanced security of the children at schools premises. Provision of WASH Services in Bara- Khyber Agency, FATA Muslim Aid with the support from the UNICEF, ensured provision of better WASH facilities for the retuning families of Khyber Agency in Tehsil Bara. The assistance included provision of clean drinking water, distribution of hygiene kits, and rehabilitation of non-functional or destroyed WASH channels, construction of drainage lines and construction of community solid waste bins for a hygienic and cleaner environment. • Rehabilitation of 05 water supply schemes • Installation of 100 water tanks • Chlorination of 50 water reservoirs • Distribution of 1,386 sanitation kits and cash • Construction of 25 solid waste-bins at community level • Construction of 3,390 small drainage lines • Construction of 04 latrines at basic health units. • Rehabilitation of 07 drinking water supply scheme • Formation of Village-based organizations • Awareness raising on improved WASH practices Repair of 705 Latrines in covered population • World Toilet Day, Hand Washing Day Celebrations .

MoU for Education Project Signed in Rajan Pur, Punjab

Muslim Aid in Rajan Pur signed the MoU with district Education Department to implement the up-coming

project of “Enhancing Quality and Access to Primary Education in District Rajanpur, Punjab, Pakistan” . The

one-year long intervention will be initiated in October 2017,to benefit thousands of local students and the

communities. It will also bring a tangible difference in quality improvements of education services in target-

ed areas.

Provision of Food Support to Needy & Poor in Orangi Town, Karachi

Muslim Aid Pakistan Country Office distributed mutton packs among 175 needy and deserving families of

Orangi Town, in Karachi. This food support has been provided under our Animal Sacrifice Programme,

designed to support and address the nutritional needs of the poor and underserved communities all

across Pakistan.

DRR Trainings for University Students in Sindh & KP

Muslim Aid Pakistan in collaboration with Tear Fund, will be conducting training of 300 university students

on DRR and safety measures in Karachi and Peshawar Universities. The aim of this project is to equipped the

students, with life saving and DRR trainings by giving them first hand information on disaster risk management

knowledge , so that they can act as the first respondents to save lives during a disaster or emergency re-

sponse. To plan it further, the Interim Country Director, Syed Khurram Khursheed held a meeting with VC

Karachi University during the reporting period, and discussed on different modalities and outcomes of the

proposed trainings of DRR.

Bringing Behavioral Change Through Media in Communities Muslim Aid is striving hard to improve health and hygiene conditions through bringing behavioral change

in remotest areas of Pakistan. For this purpose, Muslim Aid is using different mediums and tools including

media and communications. Under its WASH-CLTS/PATS project, Muslim Aid recently produced 5 TV

commercials, aiming on creating awareness on WASH practices among local communities, in district Rajan

Pur, Southern Punjab. The video messages were recorded in Saraiki: the local language, to make the messag-

es fully communicative and understandable for the targeted audience in local communities. Our advocacy

and Behavioral Change Communication (BCC) activities, have been a part of projects and interventions, to

bring a positive and prosperous change in the live of our rightsholders.

Training for Staff on IT Skills Development.

IT Department organized orientation session for Muslim Aid Islamabad Office staff on Office 365 which in-

cludes skype for business, one drive ,one note and outlook. This session was planned to give detailed orien-

tation to staff on effective use of technology for their business use and performance.
