The October Gen-
eral Meeting will be held at
5:00 PM on Sunday, Octo-
ber 18th at Bristol Hill Unit-
ed Methodist Church at
4826 County Ln. Rd., KCK
66106.
The Board of Direc-
tors meeting will be con-
ducted Wednesday, Octo-
ber 14th starting at 6:30
PM. It will be held at Old
Shawnee Pizza, 6000 Rog-
ers Drive (61st and Nie-
man) in Shawnee, KS.
Contact any Board
member for more info.
October is here with all the familiar trimmings – leaves to admire and cleanup,
football parties, anticipation of the 8irst snow as temps drop (ok, sorry for the remind-
er), cars being prepared for winter hibernation under their covers, insurance coverage
being reduced, the Royals in the Playoffs, and of course MCGKC Annual Dues Renewal!!
The Renewal Form is included in the newsletter and can be printed and mailed to the
address as shown on the form. Thanks to all of you for a great 2015, and let’s be sure to
do it all again in 2016!!
September’s General Meeting and Pot Luck Supper was excellent and thanks to
all of the great dishes provided by the members! It was a very signi8icant meeting due
to the 8inalization of the of8icer election ballot for 2016, and Lorne and John have pro-
vided a 8ine list of candidates – a special thanks to our members who have agreed to be
on the 2016 ballot and to our past of8icers who continue to provide valuable support to
the club in a variety of ways. The election of the 2016 of8icers will be held at the Octo-
ber General Meeting.
Here’s a “Shout Out” to the members attending the Overland Park Fall Festival
parade and providing your convertibles to carry both the OP and German dignitaries.
Thanks for your participation in the event and for your posts – I enjoyed seeing the ac-
tivities!!
As you know, MCGKC has been a recipient of the MCA President’s Award for
many years, and one of the key components of this award is charitable work and contri-
butions. Last month I spoke of the Annual Show’s results and related contribution to
Hope Lodge and of our WWFS involvement. October’s Cruise Night, aka Pink Cruise,
provides us with yet another opportunity to give back to the community and to those
needing extra care and support. Nancy Bloom is our Pink Cruise committee chairper-
son, and I encourage you to attend the Cruise and provide a “basket” which will be sold
through a silent auction. The proceeds are going to the Saint Lukes Foundation which
provides funding to cancer patients needing 8inancial assistance. Please contact Nancy
by calling (913-217-8668) or dropping her a note if you have any questions or are plan-
ning to bring a basket for the fundraiser.
Please mark your calendars for the Bristol Hill United Methodist Church Car
Show and Chili Fest on Saturday, October 17th. We are fortunate to have the church fa-
cilities for our General Meeting, and their car show, which has grown signi8icantly over
the years, supports the children’s ministries. The cars and chili are great, so plan on
attending and supporting our location sponsor!!
See you in October!!!

9:00 PM. The date is fast approaching!!!
We will again be doing a silent auction
of basket items donated by our club fami-

October 10th cruise night. This helps in getting
the bid sheets in order. I will need to know
what’s in the basket and it’s value. Get crea-

goes to the Saint Luke’s Foundation.
If you have any questions, please con-
tact Nancy Bloom (913-217-8668).
The 2017 Grand Naonal planning commiee is asking for your input for a theme for our show. We’ve discussed some older themes and
many of us like the 1994 theme “I’m goin to Kansas City”, but we’d like to get the creave minds to come up with some other alterna-
ves.
The commiee has set some parameters:
Should have something to do with the area, but not just one side of the state line.
Should be something that is applicable in 2017, and not just trending now.
Should not be something that is overused.
A e-in to Mustangs is a plus.
Having something to do with what we have going on at the show will be a plus.
(We plan on having displays of Twisters and Dominators at the show.)
The theme will be used in our adversing, on t-shirts, some of our acvies, on the trophies, and prey much anything else that has to
do with the show.
This is the theme from the
1994 MCA Naonal Show
flyer (sorry for the quality,
best I could do on short
noce). Send your feedback
to Show Chairman Jim Pe-
terson at
