TRANSCRIPT
Hi! My name is Ms. Jeanne Marie Thomas. I am SO excited to
teach at Lindsey Elementary! Having the opportunity to teach
at the school named after my friend of 29 years, Lois Lindsey,
is a dream come true!
I have one daughter, Emilie (28), who is a Head Trainer for
McKinney North High School. Go Bulldogs! Emilie got
married over the summer (June 30!) and I welcomed my son-in-
law, Andrew Gifford, into my family! Coach Gifford and her
new husband live in the apartments near Lindsey, and I am so
excited to have them so close!
One look around our classroom and you will know that my
favorite animal is cats! That’s why my students are known as
Thomas’ Texas Tabbies! (A Tabby is a breed of cat!)
The Basics!
My ExperienceI began teaching for Allen ISD in 1987, at Reed
Elementary. I taught first and second grade at
Reed until 2008, when I became part of the
charter staff at Evans Elementary. I taught first
grade for 6 years, and then had the rewarding
opportunity to loop up to second grade with my
students! What an wonderful experience! I loved
second grade, but my first love will always be first
grade and I was thrilled to join the Lindsey First
Grade Team in 2015. I know my 27th year of
teaching will be the best year yet!!
My ChildhoodI grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee (you will see
some TN Volunteer Orange in our classroom!)
and attended East Tennessee State University.
My family is spread out over the country in
Kentucky, California and Oklahoma!
