Commonly Used Materials in our Classroom
Realia
Realia- objects or activities used to relate classroom teaching to the real life especially of people studied.
Advantages:-Plentiful-Concrete learning experiences-Motivate the learnerDisadvantages:-Not always practical (size,potential hazards,need to
maintain original structure)-Can be a distraction-Storage and Retrieval
Models
Models-Three-dimensional representations of real objects- Represent structures-Scale Advantages:-Can be manipulated- more practical than realia- Simplifies complex conceptsDisadvantages:-In accuracy may lead to misconceptions-May lead to over simplication-May be difficult to design

Text- Alphanumeric letters and characters presented to students in the form of printed materials.
-May synthesize or elaborate on the lesson-Provides exercises- Enrichment activitiesAdvantages:-varied approaches-easy to bring, recopy-not limited to the class scheduleDisadvantage:-Preconceptions-Traditional-May divide the student’s attention

• Can use this in making a presentation

• Metal surface that can adhere with small magnets attached
Felt board
• Retelling a story or working on organization skills
Chalk board
• Both can be used by teacher and students to write on and students can learn to write
White board
• Slick white board that can be written on with multi-colored makers that can be easily erased
Overhead projector
• Display work to the classmates
• Use of transparencies that are projected on the wall
Document camera
• Taking image of events in their family or class activity like going a nature walk and showing what they saw
Other technology

• This objects can be used in the classroom by watching a program on a station or by hooking VCR or DVD player to watch
computer• Computer are widely be used
in the classroom by all students and teachers. This device gives students a great chance to search for information on the internet without having to look things up in a book. Also they have the chance to do class work and activities on the computer without the use of paper.
Video recorders
• This object can be use by teachers and students for observations and documentating information.
