Ms. Maru a Ishaque is a citizen o Bangladesh. She is an undergrad-uate student (4th year) in the department o Geography andEnvironment o University o Dhaka, Bangladesh. Maru a has achievedChampion o the Champions Award in the frst EnvironmentOlympiad o Bangladesh. She has participated in SERVIR HimalayaYouth Forum, Earth Observation: Empowering Youth or ClimateActions in the Himalayas in Bangladesh, 2012 InternationalStudent Con erence on Environment and Sustainability and awarded3rd prize on International Poster Competition in China. Sheparticipated in Asia Pacifc Graduates Youth Forum on GreenEconomy in Kathmandu, Nepal in 2012 and rom there she hasselected to attend UNFCCC COP 18 as Asia Pacifc YouthAmbassador. She has also achieved International Award or YoungPeople by HRH the Duke o Edinburgh, 2011. She was the editoro Viqarunnisa Noon Debating Club o the year 2009 and publishedyearly magazine named SHUNRIT. She is a lyric writer and sheis now working as a reelance journalist in a renowned Bangla dailynewspaper Prothom Alo. She is also involved with Quantum Foun-dation and working or the betterment o tribal children o BandarbanUpazila o Bangladesh.
