Background
• The city of Norrköping was looking for a way to save trees, money and time by eliminating printed meeting documents.
• Hundreds of thousands of euros was spent on printed documents every year
• Cumbersome process to distribute documents
• Politicians had to carry a lot of printed documents around
• No easy way to share comments and notes around meetings
• How to digitally handle sensitive documents, e.g for the social security board?
• Replacing printed douments, according to the ”just enough is more” principle
• iPad-solution for public and secret documents
• Using a combination of Active Directory and encrypted keys to get two-factor authentication of users and iPads
• Browse through meetings and documents, annotatation and note-taking features.
• Off-line support , downloaded public documents will be stored locallly.

A big hit from the start!
• 100 politicians using the app in the first wave of deployment
• Meetings are now 100% paperless
• Very good ROI, solution paid-off in less than a year, thru reduced printing and handling costs
• Time to prepare and distribute documents went down from 18 to 1 hour for the secretaries
• Politicians feel more in control and better prepared from meetings.
• All politicians now have an Ipad that they can use for a lot of other productivity boosting activities;-)
