1)Fix Our Streets ‣ Several months ago I started a petition to fix our footpaths,

streets and power lines in Prospect North. It should be a strategic priority for Council.

increase debt, keeping rates low must be a priority.

3)Consultation & Accessibility ‣ You deserve local government representatives who are accessible

‣ Residential rates will increase by an average of 4.5%1 (compared with Adelaide CPI of 2.5%).

‣ Council expenses are forecast to increase by 17% over the 2014 - 20181 period.

‣ Repayments of borrowings will increase by 131% over the 2014 - 20181 period.

We need to make sure that increasing council expenses and borrowing repayments are met with sound strategic and financial governance - to keep rates low.

Keep Rates LowForecast Council Debt (2014-2018)1

Fix Our Streets

My Plan to Keep Rates Low: ‣ Keeping rates low must be a priority during budget planning ‣ Council’s debt will increase substantially during this election term and should be closely managed ‣ Robust financial management including keen monitoring of budget variances should be fully investigated ‣ Efficiencies through resource sharing between councils ‣ Fighting to remove unnecessary regulation and red tape

My Plan to Fix Our Streets: ‣ Making Prospect North a strategic priority for Council is key ‣ We should develop a Master Plan for Prospect North in consultation with residents - let’s have a vision for our area ‣ We need a greater allocation of repairs in line with our geographic size, proportionate to the rest of council ‣ I will fight for action by council in response to my petition

1 Prospect City Council, Annual Business Plan (2014-2015).

North Ward is geographically the largest ward in Prospect, yet has received less than 20% of total footpath investment since 2009.1

Consultation & AccessibilityMy Plan to be Consultative and Accessible:

‣ I will personally fund and letterbox a regular newsletter, keeping you informed of Council’s developments ‣ www.talisevans.com.au will be regularly updated with new business brought to elected members’ attention ‣ Surveys on important issues are a great way to canvass the views of residents. I will conduct at least 1 survey every

year of residents in Prospect North on their thoughts towards Council business and will table and publish the results

Local government is important as the decisions made by local government impact us all. As residents in Prospect North, we need our elected members to be visible, consultative and accessible. We need to be kept informed of the important decisions made by council, and be given the opportunity to have our say on how our rate money is spent.

Community SafetyWe all deserve to feel safe and secure. While in our homes, walking to the shops and when enjoying the great parks, community and recreation facilities we have in Prospect North, we deserve to feel safe.

My Plan to Ensure Community Safety: ‣ Graffiti should be removed as quickly as possible ‣ Strengthen ties between Council and local law enforcement to ensure easy and rapid information sharing ‣ Work to secure funding for more CCTV cameras and crime prevention programs in Prospect North
