Was the magazine appropriate for your film?

I think that the magazine was appropriate for my film because it

allowed me to follow their quirky and unique style, in order to make it more

professional. This made my film appear more high budgeted and

recognisable for people who adore and read the Little White Lies

magazine. By following their style, I could promote my film as well as

criticise it which I though was effective because it enable the truth about my film, without feeding false

information.

How does the review promote the film?

I think my review promotes my film by using the image of one of the main characters on the top with curved corners, just the way Little White Lies does theirs. This promotes my film because the audience will recognise the actress above from previous films or like the high exposure and contrast effect on the image which portrays gritty, rough and different. My poster also promotes my film by having the director, production company and actresses names in the corner for the audience to refer to for future references.

How far does your review reflect the real

strengths and weaknesses of your film? I think that my view reflects the strengths and weaknesses

of my film because I was honest with the areas of the film that I felt were weak. This would allow the audience to appreciate my honesty and watch the film as they should feel that the film makers are not overly persuading them with consistent positive features of the film. Although, I do not dwell on the negatives or weaknesses of my film I think by me simply exploring and mentioning it, will indicate enough to the audience that the film is not Hollywood perfect. I do feel that the strengths of the film was expressed to the appropriate extent because I really (try) to show off the conventions of social realism as well as making the plot appear really interesting.

What aspects of the film does it focus on?

I think my review focuses more on Jodie who plays Jennifer’s world and journey because I wanted the audience to build a relationship with this character. This is because by my review it should make the audience have empathy towards Jodie and also have a intriguing plot that would make the audience engaged. By my film not being an average best friends story line I wanted to not expose the villain too much as I felt it would give too much away. Also, when I was researching social realism posters, reviews or films, the villain is never usually known about through these productions. Sometimes, the villain would be blended in the rest of the cast making it harder for the audience to identify them. In my case, I just wanted to focus on Jodie and her feelings and emotions, as this is continuously being played on.
