my secret

Billy Lane Earwax Giving myself the sign I scan the surroundings to see if it’s fine With a quick motion to my head I am excited for I will be fed Going inside my ear It began to smear With a rapid swipe of my finger And no intention to linger I lowered my hand Noticing it was not bland Covered by a faint rusted coat All I wanted to do was gloat Toward my mouth my finger moved And then my taste buds were soothed The sticky texture and salty taste Were soon erased Then my craving returned And my body yearned Questions: What is the secret? Is the rhyme scheme effective? What emotions does the speaker exemplify? What imagery is used? Is the imagery effective? Or could it have been more in depth?
