My time machine

I am a pupil in primary five. One day I visited my grandma with my family.

When my brother came into the house, he saw a thing that looked like a cup. Then he asked grandma, “What is that thing?”

“It’s a time machine,” Grandma said. “Last month your grandpa went hiking and found it. And he brought it back.”

“Can I take it home?” “Yes, of course.” “Thanks, grandma.” Then my brother put it

into my bag.

When we got home, my brother asked me to his bedroom. “Please tell me how to use it.”

“I don’t know that. I don’t have the manual,” I said.

“Well, ha! I think we can push this small button,” brother shouted excitedly.

Suddenly, the cup said “Thank you, my owners. What can I do for you? I can help you.”

“We want to be thirty-five years old because we want to help our mother with the housework,” My brother said.

“OK!” it said.

Suddenly, we became thirty-five years old. Our head, mouth, body, hands and legs all became bigger. We were very happy.

We ran into the street. We wanted to find our mother and help her to work.

When we found her, we were very excited and asked her “Hello, mum! We want to help you with your work. What do you want us to do?”

“Who are you two? My sons are only eleven years old. You two are not my sons. Please go away!”

“I think we have forgotten something important,” I said to my brother. “She doesn’t know we have the time machine.”

“Ha, we can tell mum that we used the time machine. Then she will believe that we are her sons!”

We found mum again. I said, “Mum, you don’t know us because we

use the time machine to get older.”

“Don’t cheat me. This cup only is only a funny cup. You two are not my sons!!” our mum got very angry.

On our way to school, brother asked, “Why do we go to school?”

“Oh, mmm…. I want to ask our classmates to tell mum that we are her sons.”

“Look, it’s Emily.”

“Emily, do you know who we are? We are your classmates, Carl and Paul.” I said.

“I’m Emily but you are not Carl and Paul. Who are you?” She was so frightened that she ran away.

“Oh! We spent all day but we can’t help our mother!” My brother cried.

Suddenly the time machine said, “let me take you back to the present.”

“If you want to help your mother, you should work harder.”

“We understand! We’re sorry!” We said in a sad voice.
