myplace Participant Portal Guide
Introduction The myplace Participant Portal is a secure website for participants to view their plans and manage
their services with providers.
This Step by Step Guide describes how the myplace portal works and provides layouts of the menus
and screens in the portal.
It also includes instructions for using each of the screens in the portal.
What can participants do in myplace? Participants accessing myplace can:
Create and view Payment Requests (previously called claims)
Create and manage Service Bookings
View your contact details
View messages from NDIS
View referrals made for you
Instant message with your linked providers
Upload required documents
Locate Service Providers
View upcoming events

Sign in Before you can signin to myplace, you need:
A myGov account. For instructions on how to create a myGov account refer to Creating a myGov account on the myGov help webpage.
An Activation Code from the NDIA (the code is needed for the first logon only).
1. Select the Participant Portal link on the NDIS website.
2. Type in your myGov username and password and select Sign in.
3. Enter the single use security code that you received on your mobile (or answer the
security question) and click Next. Please note: if you are using the secret question,
another sign screen displays. Please keep your security code and secret questions in a
safe place. Click Continue.

4. Your activation code has been provided to you via letter or email. Enter this code, your
last name and date of birth then click Submit.
Please note: you only have to put in the NDIA activation code once. This screen will not
display again.
5. You will need to accept the Terms of Use before you can use the myplace portal.
Use the scrollbar to view the Terms of Use.
If you accept the Terms of Use, click on the box located next to I have read and accepted the terms of use.
Click Accept to continue logging into myplace.
Please note: The Terms of Use will only display the first time you sign in to myplace,
and when there have been updates to the myplace portal.

myplace homepage The myplace homepage displays once you have signed in. From here you can manage your
relationship with the NDIS.
Refer to the following table for information on the myplace portal homepage.

myplace Navigation
Using a function Select the function tile displayed in the myplace homepage to go into that section of the
portal.
Returning to the myplace homepage at any time There are two ways you can return to the myplace homepage.
Select the myplace logo.
In some pages, the Home button displays. You can select this button to return to the myplace
homepage.
For Help Select the question mark icon for simple explanations of the functions displayed.
Select Contact Us at the bottom of the screen to go to the NDIS website.

My Contact Details View all your contact details here. You may have access to edit your information here (there will be
an edit button available if you have access). If you do not have an edit button and there are details
that are incorrect, please contact the NDIA.
1. Click My Contact Details on the myplace home page.
The My Contact Details screen displays.
2. Click Open Section to display details under each heading.

My Plan You can view, but not change, your most recent NDIS Plan, guideline documents, your support
budget and referrals.
View My Plan 1. Click My Plan on the myplace home page.
2. Click View My Plan.
Your plan details display.
Part 4 lists all your funded supports.

My Helpful Documents You can access useful guideline documents for your Plan.
1. Click on My Helpful Documents on the My Plan page.
2. The Helpful Documents page displays. You can access the documents by clicking the
document name.

My Support Budget You can view a summary of your approved NDIS Plan support budget including approved funds, funds spent and funds remaining.
1. Click on My Support Budget on the My Plan page.
2. A summary of your approved NDIS Plan support budget is displayed.
The table and pie chart will only reflect payments which have been processed and paid. The
figures will not include Request for Payments which have been submitted, but not yet
processed.

My Referrals You can view all your referrals.
1. Click My Referrals on the My Plan page.
The list of your referrals displays.
2. Click on View Details to find out more information about the referral.

My Service Bookings This section allows you to create and manage your Service Bookings. Service Bookings are really important as it locks a specific support/s to a specific provider within a specific time frame.
1. Click the My Service Booking tile on the homepage.
Create a New Booking 1. Click the Add My Service Booking tile on the Service Bookings page.
2. Click Find a Provider.

This opens the Provider Locator screen. You can also get here from the Provider Locator tile
on the home page.
3. Click the Go to my Current Location icon and the system will search for providers.
Then click the desired provider in the Search Results.
This displays the details of the selected provider.
4. To make a booking with this provider, click Create a Service Booking.

The Service Booking Details screen opens.
5. Check that you have the correct provider selected; if not, click Find a Provider.
6. Select the Service Booking Type from the drop down menu.
7. Type in the Start Date and End Date, or select them using the calendar.
Note: these dates must be within the start and end dates of the current plan.
8. Click Find Plan.

9. Click Select in the relevant plan displayed in Step 2.

10. At Step 3, select the Support Budget, Item Number and Allocated Amount and click Add. To
add more supports select and click Add. Continue until all support items are selected.
11. The booking will appear in the Added Details section. If it is correct, click Next.
12. A summary of supports is displayed. Comments may be added in the comments section. If this
is correct, select Submit.
You will receive confirmation of your booking when the provider approves it.

View Existing Bookings 1. Click the My View Service Bookings tile on the Service Bookings page.
The list of Service Bookings displays.
2. To filter this list, select a term from the Search By menu and click Search.
3. To view details of any item, click the Service Booking Number.

My Payment Request Depending on the type of plan, you can create and view all Payment Requests (claims) through My
Payment Request.
1. Click My Payment Request on the myplace homepage.

The New Payment Request screen displays.
2. Type in the details of your claim and click Next to proceed. If you have more than one claim to
enter, click Add Another.
3. In the Preview screen, check the details are correct, tick the declaration, and click Submit.

The Confirmation screen displays, showing the details you entered.
Your Payment Request has been submitted. From here you can either Return to Home or go to
View Payment Requests.
View Payment Requests You can view the claims you have submitted and periodic payments. Check here regularly to
monitor the progress of your claims.

2. Click My View Payment request on the My Payment Request screen.
3. Choose the Payment Request Type from the drop down menu. The following steps are an
example for submitted payment requests.

5. Click Search for a full list of all claims, or type in the relevant dates to view only those
payments. A list of your claims displays.

My Appointments 1. Click My Appointments on the myplace home page.

Provider Finder The Provider Finder can assist you to locate registered providers in your area.
1. Click the Provider Finder tile on the home page to open the tool.
The map will locate providers in your local area.
2. Type your Suburb or the Provider name in the Search field. A list of the Search Results
displays on the right.
3. Click the provider name in the Search Results list to show details of that provider.

My Messages You can send instant messages to your providers.
1. Click the My Messages tile on the myplace home page.
The Messages page opens.
2. Select the provider from the drop down under My Provider List.
3. Type your message in the yellow box and click the paper plane to send.
4. Current conversations (messages) will appear under Conversations with. You can continue
this conversation by clicking on the providers name.
Please note: only providers to whom you are linked with (i.e. through a service booking) will be available for messaging.

Events You can search for and view upcoming events that are held near you.
1. Click the Events tile on the myplace home page.
2. Click the Events on drop down to select the date range.
3. Click Refine Search to display more search fields.

Document Upload This is where you can send copies of documents to the NDIA.
1. Click the My Document Upload tile on the myplace home page.
The Document Upload page displays.
2. At Document name, type the name of the document.
3. Type a description of the file.
4. Click Browse to find the file on your computer.
5. Click Upload to send the document to the NDIA.

Products and Services The Products and Services is currently being finalised and will be available at a later date.
As a participant you will be able to browse through a range of products and services created to suit
the individuality of your needs. You will be able to browse products and services, like ‘Housing’,
‘Behaviour Support’, ‘Help at Home’ etc.
You will also be able to read reviews posted by other participants, post a review yourself, compare
items or create a wish list of products you would like to purchase. You will also be able to view a
providers profile details and provide feedback directly to the provider.

myGov Inbox You can view all email messages from the NDIA. Please note: You will only see emails here if you
have requested email as your preferred method of receiving information from the NDIA.
1. Click the myGov Inbox tile.
Your inbox opens and displays your incoming messages.
