This small car has taken a big leap forward. The Mazda2 rewards you with sophisticated design, while its SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY unlocks quick-witted agility and outstanding fuel economy. A better way to move - SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY

Getting around never felt so good. The Mazda2 is light-on-its feet around town, ensuring smooth-riding and sporty good fun everywhere you go. At every level, breakthrough SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY has reduced weight and ramped up efficiency.

Both 1.5 litre petrol and diesel engines give you lots of power, yet use very little fuel. Both automatic and manual transmissions are responsive and refined. With a body that cuts quietly through the air, the Mazda2 moves you in the most enjoyable way you could imagine.

SKYACTIV-G 1.5L PETROL ENGINEThe low weight, low friction and high efficiency fundamentals of SKYACTIV-G petrol engine design result in sporty performance with minimised fuel use. Its 4-2-1 exhaust layout helps produce 82kW of power and 145Nm of torque. Just 5.7 litres of fuel is used every 100km when matched to the 6-Speed (SKYACTIV-Drive) automatic transmission.

SKYACTIV-D 1.5L DIESEL ENGINE WITH i-STOPThe SKYACTIV-D 1.5 was developed in the pursuit of ideal combustion despite a very low compression ratio. As a result, the engine boasts outstanding dynamic performance, including torque equal to a 2.5-litre petrol engine and linear acceleration all the way up the RPM range. It also features excellent environmental performance without resorting to expensive NOx aftertreatment systems. Just 4.4 litres of fuel is used every 100km when matched to the 6-Speed (SKYACTIV-Drive) automatic transmission.

BODYNew-generation design and materials maximise lightness and rigidity. Key joints are strengthened by advanced techniques requiring no heavy reinforcement. High and ultra-high tensile steel cuts weight and boosts strength. Despite being light, the Mazda2 achieves outstanding collision performance.

CHASSISEvery component has been optimised to build the sense of ‘oneness’ between car and driver. The lightweight front strut and rear torsion beam suspension use firmer bushings and revised geometry for sporty agility with high levels of refinement. Electric power-assisted steering saves fuel, and also delivers quick handling underpinned by reassuring stability.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONThe 6-Speed (SKYACTIV-Drive) automatic transmission combines the best aspects of conventional automatic, continuously variable and dual clutch transmissions. It also couples directly with the engine over a far wider range than other automatics, ensuring increased fuel economy and more direct power delivery. Shifts are quick and smooth.

MANUAL TRANSMISSIONThe 6-Speed (SKYACTIV-MT) manual transmission delivers precise, sports-car-style shifting through simplified design and a finely-honed mechanism. More compact and also much lighter than comparable transmissions, it significantly cuts internal friction to improve fuel economy.

Head-Up Display (HUD) - Individual Plus and Hazumi only

Mazda’s Head-Up Display (HUD) shows important driving information like the current speed, next turn directions from the satellite navigation and safety alerts. It is positioned directly in front of the driver, which means it feeds you all the information without you needing to take your eyes off the road. You can adjust the height at the display to match your eye-line.

Keep yourself connected with MZD Connect

Take off in a Mazda2 and you’re still in touch with the stuff that counts. Hook up your compatible smartphone to the MZD Connect system and get access to a heap of online content, including Facebook and Twitter feeds, radio, podcasts and more. Texts can even be read out loud. It all comes together right where you need it; on a central touch screen positioned to help you stay focused on the road. Control is effortless, with a rotary commander falling to hand without you even having to look. Nothing could be easier – available from the Dynamic model.

Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) - Hazumi only

By scanning external mirrors’ blind spots, radars detect any unseen vehicles to help you avoid making hazardous lane changes. The LED icon on the relevant mirror is accompanied by a warning beeper.

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) - Individual Plus and Hazumi only

Using a windscreen-mounted camera to monitor road lane markings, the Lane Departure Warning (LDW) sounds an audible warning if you’re about to stray from your lane.

Flip through menus and functions with the rotary commander that is designed for minimum distraction – available from the Dynamic model.

Plug in and play

Built-in USB port makes it easy to listen to music via players or storage devices, and charge compatible devices.
