Course Description:

This 2-day symposium is an evolution of previous National Capital Knee Symposia. This year’s course will feature streamlined, and shortened didactic sessions with expanded time available for case presentations, thus allowing frank

exchange of ideas and concepts. Emphasis will also be on prepared videos as we convert the cadaveric laboratory session to a sawbones simulation in order to allow greater discussion and problem solving time.

Overall Learning Objectives:

Recognize, and diagnose knee injuries and recall the state of the art treatment of challenging, and controversial cases; Recall the current up to date techniques of knee arthroplasty, and demonstrate them on a plastic sawbones model;

Recognize and recall complications of knee surgery to ensure the optimum patient outcomes; Identify the anatomy of the knee with the use of ultrasound and demonstrate it’s use;

Recall the techniques of meniscal repair, and ACL tunnel creation and demonstrate on sawbone models.
